Long Island Iced Tea recipe

The Long Island Iced Tea (LIIT) is the basis of many elaborate mixed-drinks. It dates to the 70's, named after the continental USA's largest island Long Island, in New York. Although it doesn't contain tea, it's taste is similar. The drink sits in the top 5 of most popular cocktails and is regularly mentioned or seen served in television and films (worthy mentions are The Simpsons, Sex and the City and Cruel Intentions).

Scale ingredients to servings

1 part vodka
1 part tequila
1 part rum
1 part gin
1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
1 splash Coca-ColaŽ
 
Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon.

I drunk several mixed drinks on my senior class trip to cancun but now i don't drink much at all.  i tend to lean towards fruity drinks

Mmmm! Those sound yummy!    I'll drink anything fruity! I don't have much experience with mixed drinks but if it's fruity preferably a mixture of cherry, lemon, orange or limes - i'll drink it!

I like Margarita's and Pina Colada's. Haven't had either in about a year since I was down in FLA on vacation.

I do not drink I can't see how they can go to pay. That much for mix drinks when they are five or six dollars or more for each drink that they have. I also run the risk of driving under the influence of that and get lose their licenses and enough in jail and kill people because they issues drink and drive and most of do that but drink.

When I did drink 20... odd years ago I didn't do typical liquor in my drinks. My strawberry Daqs. were made with vodka, just like my screwdrivers were so I didn't mix alcohols. But I did also drink long island teas on occassion and shots of Cuervo gold no salt just lemon.

   COOL!!  I love Madras vodka and cranberry and also vodka with orange juice...so I have got to try this Madras and also a Sea Breeze, thanks

I love almost anything with blue curcao!!!! and I could never pass on an amaretto sour! but I like almost any fruity drink they're my weakness lol
