Do a 1200 calorie diet.  It you have a smart phone the app Myfitness Pal is very helpful and helping you keep track!

Check out the dukan diet... it is kind of like southbeach, but a little more relaxed with lowfat dairy products.  I started this diet in March of 2010 at 174 lbs and by July of 2010 I was at 135.  Then the real work began...losing was not so hard with this plan, but learning how to keep it off is a trick. It has been almost 3 years and I've managed to stay around 140.  Not sure how much you want to lose, but you can modify this for just about any level.
