Why I don't watch the news?

I understand! I'm the same way.  All the bad news is depressing. My ex husband says I need to be informed but I always say if it's important enough I'll find out anyway somehow.

That's for sure.  News is so depressing these days.  I get all the news I need online.  Only have to see it one time, not over and over again.  Always pray for the victims.

I agree news is depressing. I always get a kick how they report bad news with a smile on their face. Most of the time I watch the news for the weather.

I rarely have time to watch news because I am always working.  Most of my news comes from National public radio on the way to and from work.  I get a second blast of news from my smartphone when I take a bathroom break. When I come home I get back to work and am able to take five to ten minutes to catch up on the news through my lap top.  The Boston news was very sad and hit alot of us who run especially hard.  I have qualified for the Boston marathon and know of the hard work that goes into getting there.  I think that  the public rose to the occasion and this incident has restored faith in our country to many who have followed this story.

I only watch news for weather and local news (just in case if there's anything funky happening in my city)... Other then that I get my mainstream news if some guy at my college talks about it

I like to watch the news and get information about the world I'm living in. But in times like these I can't watch it because they talk about one event all day and I can't take it. They just repeat the same information all week and forego any other news. Don''t get me wrong, I'm saddened by what happened but I hate when it's only one thing on the news for an extended period of time.

I also don't like watching the news.  It is always such bad news.  I also don't think they should show the same time over and over again.  When something new happens then they should interrupt programming and let you know what is going on.   I don't need to watch everything play by play and see the same thing over and over again.  The first time is bad enough.

Yes i feel the same I went through a phase of not watching tv all i saw on tv was depressing but then i wanted to be updated with the world and know what is going on so therefore have to watch tv
