Me too! I sanitized it thoroughly, but that next year they got top notch beds.  Everyone gets down, and I'd consider going back to pick up that panel as being resourceful.  My favorite store to shop is Goodwill and even after I get my PhD I don't see that changing.

Everyone gets down, the hope is to not stay there and complain but to create a plan to do better in the near future.  Even a half step of progress per day eventually adds up to a mile.

been there  picked up twin mattresses years ago for my kids very low point in life.  it gets better... bad time good times things always improve ... dont sweat the small stuff

Join the club.  I am sick of being broke but am doing all I can about it so I don't know what else to do except trust God he is going to change my circumstances.  We pick up recycle stuff along with half of this town so you only get so much and try to save money every way we can but jobs are few and far between.  Darn, depressing!

I was there at one time. Even went to the welfare office for help. Sit in my car for about 20 mintues and turned around and went and got a second job. Granted it was working in a laundry mat. But hey a job is a job.  I worked two jobs for many years afterwards. Both were part time. But that was all i could find. After a few years though i had worked my way up into management at a large retail store. Then did not have to work 2 jobs. I know a couple of seniors who are working flipping burgers because their ss is not enough. And they both have a college education. Nothing worng with that.

I had a friend that was broke and she would pick up little odd and ends of things people tossed out or didnt need. She got so good at that when she finally came into money she opened a resale store. Keep your head up things will get better.

I understand the feeling. I am trying to pay bills and there always seems to be another one that pops up! I have a new job making more money so I am hoping that I can get a good grasp on bills now

I know how you feel!  I have Medicaid but I still have co-pays and our medicine comes to over $40.00 and we don't have it and my nurse expects it to be here the next time she comes what am I going to do?  I have no income of my own and my husbands disability covers our bills and I am stressing over it.  I also chipped another tooth and Medicaid doesn't pay for dental for adults.  I need all my teeth pulled.  There are free dental programs but I don't qualify because I have Medicaid which doesn't cover dental.  So what can I do I need medications by Friday?  I went to family they can't help either.

I am aware that Medicaid is run by each state so what they cover may be different from one state to another but I know that here locally Medicaid does cover some dental work, particularly the extraction of all ones remaining teeth and the fitting of dentures. I think that has to be deemed a 'medical necessity' by an MD as it is required for getting proper nutrition. This was the case of a family acquaintance's experience a couple of years ago. BTW that same individual received Rx's at no cost through a local Doctors Association, set up similar to a food bank for those that had no way to pay. That might be available as well, although I know it is not all that common.

Best wishes...
Missouri Medicaid covers dental for 18 and younger or 63 and over.  My teeth are making me sick but they denied me and those free places denied me because I have Medicaid.  Now if my doctor will say I am a diabetic I might me able to get my teeth pulled but they won't pay for dentures for me.

My sympathies to you. Same state, similar problems - not my own, luckily and knock on wood, but close family with a lot of denture and medical issues.

For the original post - there are very few pieces of furniture (or other household items and clothing) in my house that I am the original first-time owner of. In fact, the city wide clean up day is treated more like a shopping / yard sale day for my household. It might be a bit embarrassing at first, but I find I'm able to enjoy the satisfaction of "new" stuff a whole lot more without all the guilt of spending money hanging over my head.

Thanks everyone. I'm sure everything will be fine.

It's just one of those weeks.

Hopefully things will turn around sooner or later.

I'll just keep plugging away.

I am so tired of being broke!  I've had enough to be comfortable, put 4 kids through college, then had a bunch of crummy  :crybaby2:   things happen over a short period....now we are "Too broke to pay  :dontknow: attention".  But I have to be positive, things will get better.  They are already improving a little.   I know sometimes it just gets you down, but wait a little, maybe by tomorrow you will feel a little better.         Instead of being down about the fence, be happy because it did get fixed!

Broke is in the eyes of the beholder.  You still have your health and, I assume, all of your limbs as well as enough mental acuity to write on this blog and have the motivation to make and save a few dollars. This is more than so many people have as the struggle through health stamps, missing body parts (horrible Boston thing) or are heavily medicated for mental infirmities.  I make a fairly good income but, up until a month ago, let my family adjust their expenses to the amount of cash that was coming in. I would work harder and they would spend more. I was broke-financially until I put the family on a budget. I still work just as hard but am now starting to make some headway.
