i live in a small town right outside a big city. i love it. when i get tired of the small suburbs, i go into the city to see baseball/football games or just to get a bite to eat. i definitely prefer the suburbs of a big city. i dont think i could handle living in the city all the time, but its a nice treat.

I would say a small town because I leave in a small rural area now and, its great very quiet and, have a lot of open spaces which is also great :)

Both has it's advantages and disadvantages. Personally I prefer the city. It's convenient.

I would love to live at the beach but somewhere in the country will do too. I live in the city now and hate it.

I live in a town that was small, but is getting bigger and bigger.  It is just outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  We were already one of the fastest growing parishes (read: counties) in Louisiana, but we started getting bigger after hurricane Katrina with the mass exodus of New Orleanians and the like.  I don't like the influx of people, but I do like all the new stores, entertainment, etc.

I've also lived in the heart of Baton Rouge, just off of campus at LSU.  I liked the convenience of everything, but I quickly grew tired of not being able to be alone.

I'd say I like small towns better.

I have lived in both and now live in a very small town in a very small county.  I would never live in the city again - too much crime, dirt, traffic.

I think a suburb of a big city so that you have a small town feel but city life is a short drive away.

I think in between in is good! I live in a city of 100K population, but it's a college town, and we have all kinds of things going on all the time. It's also close to Detroit.

i live in a medium size city now (indianapolis/naptown), but i've always dreamed of living in new york. i'm the type of person who likes excitement, culture and people. but thats just me, there's nothing wrong with small towns either.

I love my small town.  I find just as many things to do here as what I would in a big city.  The things to do here are more outside.  Big cities are nice to visit, but not to live.

I grew up in New york city, so i love the convenience and energy. You know how people always go, "only in new york city", when something weird happens. Thats what i like about it. Also any type of food/activity is within reach. The diversity is unparalleled. Every neighborhood has a different feel and culture.
