Which is better? Living in a small town, or in a big city?

Im just wondering, i perfer living in a small town, its nice and quiet and everyone knows who you are and you know who everyone else is.

i've lived in the big city my whole life and i still love it, i could never see living in a place where there's not much going on

I love small towns.  I live in a city now (lol to most of you it is probably still a town).  I love open fields, horsebackriding, 4-wheeling, raising chickens.  Someday I hope to be able to move back to a small town (less then 1000 people).

I lived in a small town growing up and I loved it everyone knew everyone and we had the freedom to be out and enjoy the neighborhood without worries. All the parents in the neighborhood kept their eyes out for all the kids. That town has since grown very quickly. I now live in the city which I also love. I love the convenience of everything being within walking distance. I still feel the closeness of the small town here on my block everyone is like a family.

I think that I could go for the beach or island.I love the beach but then again I'm an island girl so why wouldn't I?

i live in a small tow and i love it although some people get nosy like my self of course it is really nice we all know each other and when something happens we pull together and help each other out. I tried living in a big town i did not like it the people did associate with you i guess they were probaly scared to because of the crime rate we still have crime in our town but not very often

Wilderness away from people! I lived in both small tows and big cities. Both has their ups and downs.

I'm a bit of a paradox because I love both and can adapt to both. i also see beauty and opportunity in both. deep down, i'm more of a wilderness/ocean kind of spirit, but i do love the energy you feel walking down the street in a big city like Chicago. right now i live in a medium-sized city and it's just right for me at the moment, but i feel i might crave a little less action someday. i've thought of living in places like Washington state or Oregon, close to a major city so then I have the best of all the worlds. The ocean, wilderness, small city living with the ability to get to the big city if i want to.

Small doesn't always mean quite and everyone knowing you is not always good.
But you mean a town I don’t even have to pay city taxes, etc.
But when something happens that is all any one talks about, so they both have cons and pros.

Small town for me.  I was born and raised in a small town and nothing else beats it.  I love the wide open spaces and not living on top of each other.

small towns are ok--i live in one.  downside--e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e makes your business their own-or tries to anyway. not much to do in a very rural community i guess--oh well,still beats city living!

I prefer living in a small town -- I do not even like visiting big cities lol.
