I have a feeling that food might affect dreams, but I'm not sure.  In my case, I definitely have more vivid dreams during the full moon.  Another thought:  Several years ago when the doctor had me trying different medications for depression, the first one I took (I don't remember the name) made me have such vivid dreams, I couldn't take it.  We finally found one that helped.  Perhaps medications can also affect your dreams.  The one thing that experts agree on concerning dreams is that they really don't know the definitive answer to what causes us to dream.

Yes.  There are many medications that affect dreams.  It will be listed in the complete side effects list.  Usually, it will say something like vivid dreams.

This website lists some of them but not all of them:  httIp://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2011/03/07/is-your-medicine-causing-bad-dreams/

I took Effexor almost 10 years ago and it caused vivid dreams, too.  You can google search your medications with "vivid dreams" after, and some may come up.  (I searched vivid dreams effexor.)

I dream almost every night, but even though I remember dreaming, sometimes I don't exactly recall all of it, unless it's powerful or scary. I am a female who has recently been put on testoserone to correct an imbalance. Now I have major sex dreams, and those, I always remember!  ???

I have multiple dreams every night do to me waking up frequently.  :BangHead:

But sadly I rarely remember my dreams. I might remember it vividly when I wake up but as the day goes on I slowly forget. :/

Everyone dreams multiple times per night, every night, but we can't always remember them.

:) yes, but I rarely remember what the dream is about. I do have repetitive dreams of being in school. I read somewhere that this is lifes way of telling me I need to pay attention to the lessons in life. So I don't forget.

I don't dream very often anymore.  I seem to toss and turn a lot and constantly wake up all during the night.

Yes, I know when I take certain medications I do have weirder dreams than usual and ill wake up feeling so uncomfortable and eerie..
But unfortunately I can have those kind of dreams randomly for no reason as well :/ I think I just naturally have a big imagination because they are extremely detailed and specific dreams. That could be everyone but seriously I think I could be the next Stephen Spielberg if I remembered and wrote down my dreams, they are crazyy!  :o :confused1: :P
(also Id be a great detective lol)

I dream frequently but cant recall the actual details of the dream, most of the time. I just know that I dreamed and if it was a pleasant or unpleasant one.

I'm taking a psych class and we've talked about this topic!  :)

Psychology (behavioral sciences) and Geology were my majors.  We talked about dreams considerably and even had a class focused on how to teach people to remember their dreams.  There is a scientist, as a matter of fact, who discovered a crucial element to something he was working on *in a dream*.  Many, many people derive inspiration from their dreams -- scientists, authors, poets, artists, mathematicians.

People with certain medical or psychological disorders will enter a dream state while they are awake.

If a person has their dream state (REM sleep) interrupted every night without end, after a certain length of time, they will go insane.  Or die.  Fascinating.

I dream every night and usually more than once a night. I always have strange dreams or nightmares, that I can't remember when I first wake up and then later come back to be at some point during the day. I used to not dream very often when I was a child, but the older I got the more dreams I would have. I don't know why some people dream more than others, but what you watch, read and eating late at night can influence your dreams. (ie horror movies giving you nightmares) I believe a drug called topamax helps repress dreams, but I can't remember exactly if that's the proper name. Melatonin is supposed to aid giving you a good night's sleep I've heard so I'm going to try that soon.

I had a dream a while back that played like a short novel.  I have been intending to try and make it into a novel, but haven't gotten around to it.  I still remember the outline of the dream.  (I do read a lot.)

ive heard we all dream every single night, and if we're lucky we can actually remember what we dreamed when we wake up but most of the time we don't
