starting your gardens for this year....
« on: April 04, 2013, 08:35:39 pm »
I am still making maple syrup.. we have had a GREAT month for it so far! But its just about over now, so I need to start my gardening. When are YOU starting your OUTSIDE veggies? Im trying for after Memorial Day, but with all this cold and snow, I DON T believe it is going to be that soon. I cant wait for the taste of fresh garden veggies! Yummmy! I plan on having a LOT more pumpkins in my patch so I can give a lot of them away to the kids in my neighborhood because a lot of parents cant afford to buy pumpkins for their 3,4,5 6 children and I like to see them all smile when I give them each one. I also give some to the veterans home and nursing homes near me. They love them!

Well we have started our garden for this year and it looks like we gonna plant lettuce, peas, rasberrys, carrots, onions and of course watermellon and grapes.

I bought some sunflower seeds the other day and I have them planted in container to sprote so maybe they will and I can reset them in yard when they get big enough.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

We didn't start our garden yet, it's still too cold!  I usually plant after May 15th, that way I can guarantee warm weather.  Will plant tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and whatever catches my eye at the nursery!

I have my tomato and peppers seeds planted indoors. The tomatoes are about 3 inches tall now.  I also planted some flower seeds indoors.  Nothing goes in the garden until after May 15...latest frost recorded.  I'm getting anxious to play in the dirt.

Here in Minnesota we still have some snow on the ground, but I can't wait to get out there and get going.  Watching everyday to see if my bulbs are going to peek through.  We need warmer weather and a lot more sun.   :)

It's April and I haven't started on my garden yet. I'm such a procrastinator. Thanks for bringing up the idea though. I have already started cleaning my garden area but have not planted anything so far. I think tomatoes, green onions, bell peppers, and buck choy(spelling) are some of the veggies that I am interested in. I really do want some head cabbage too. Hopefully it will grow. Last year I had too many tomatoes, so i'll ease up on that. But they are so good in those tacos!!!
