For the past several months, I have experienced a feeling of something cold and wet on my leg, mostly my right one.  When I go to brush or wipe it off, it is not wet at all.  I thought I may be losing my mind - I have never heard of anything like this before.  I went to Google and learned, to my surprise, that there are other people with this symptom.  I am going to bring this up to my doctor soon.  I have so much going on, I hate to keep going back to the doctor between appointments, but I guess I should.  Have any of you ever had this sensation?

I have this too. I have MS, so I have always assumed it was something related to that. I think the body just does weird things sometimes though, so maybe it is nothing serious in your case.

I have some friends who also have MS, and I very much admire the positive outlook no matter what is happening day to day.  I'm in a chronic health conditions group, online, for 3 years now, and have gotten to know several ladies who struggle daily, me included, and have learned so much about so many health issues, multiple issues, what it does, how it affects, symptoms, triggers, types of medications, etc.  Everyone is so supportive and encouraging of/for each other.

I dont know that i have much of a positive outlook, though i should be more thankful things have been stable. I have sooo many health issues that I cant get past one without something else kicking in. That old saying "you dont have anything if you dont have your healthy" is VERY true. I dont know how to enojy life, bc every second of my life is affected by medical problems.  I hope others dont have to go thru life with multiple chronic diseases.

You might want to get a medical opinion.

Hi jscribb and others, I can empathize with all those who deal with chronic pain.  I have had arthritis since my 20s.  My rheumatologist recently said it is probably going into RA.  It has progressively gotten worse over the years.  I also have another rare condition called costochondritis, which causes rib pain.  It is caused by the degeneration of cartilage in the ribs (like arthritis).   I am on medication for Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and thyroid.  From all my research on the internet, I am convinced my family has a history of autoimmune diseases.  Many of us have those conditions along with several rare diseases.  I have several other conditions caused by accidents or falling.  I don't talk about them very much; I try to keep a positive attitude.  Jscribb, can you give me the name of the website you belong to.  If not here, can you send me a message on FB.  Thanks so much.  And thanks for all your prayers, everyone.  My faith is the main thing that keeps me going.

See your doctor as it could be MS, Lupus or a pinched nerve in your back.

This is new to me as well.  Please let us all know what you find out from your dr.  Make it a learning experience for all of us.

You probably have some form of nerve damage.  I have Multiple Sclerosis.  Since my diagnosis, I have done a lot of study into the "nerve" conditions.  This is one of my symptoms, too.  I get this frequently.  Sometimes, it will feel like running water.  Sometimes, it simply feels like I have something cold and wet upon me somewhere.  (Most often it is my arms and legs).

It is a form of paraesthesia.  People with some form of nerve damage will have dysesthesia and paraesthesia.    Most common, for me, is paraesthesia.  But, because of the extent of the nerve damage I have, I have all sorts of paraesthesias.  Sound, for instance, causes me pain sometimes.

Do you ever get pain in your limbs?  Or in your torso?  Do you ever feel like your hands and feet are numb and cold?  Do you have pain symptoms that cannot be explained?  Any sort of loss of memory?

Nerve damage might be local to the area, but it may also come from the brain or spinal cord.  Local damage is not a big issue.  Having nerve damage elsewhere is.  Paraesthesia is a symptom -- feeling cold wet -- of a disorder or disease.

Delphyne, Thank you for your post.  I do have pain, which I have had for a long time, but a lot of it is from arthritis.  However, it may be that it is difficult to tell one type of joint pain from another.  And I am glad you mentioned the two types of nerve damage.  I am going now to research them.  I will check in later.

Is it stress-related? I'm curios.

Sorry you're experiencing this, I can't imagine how nerve wrecking it may be. Please hurry and get checked out.
Don't rely on hear say, before taking the initiative to see your doctor. Who do you think would be more familiar with
or qualified to give a response to this mystery symptom than a doctor?

WOW.  I have had this happen - but it's so rare that I just don't even think about it.  At least until I read this!  Odd.  I'm still not going to worry about it though - like I said - rare.
