I have never heard of this before, I hope you feel better really soon.....I have a lot of issues around that time of the month...when I read this a lot of things made sense and made me feel better...I thought I was loosing my mind or dying...good luck

Delphyne, Thank you for your post.  I do have pain, which I have had for a long time, but a lot of it is from arthritis.  However, it may be that it is difficult to tell one type of joint pain from another.  And I am glad you mentioned the two types of nerve damage.  I am going now to research them.  I will check in later.

Nerve pain will be different from joint pain.  But, if you have been in pain a while, you may be "blurring" the pain types in your mind.  I know how it is, believe me.  Having MS has made pain an interesting life-path. 

You have arthritis.  The joint inflammation may also pinch or damage nerves, which you may feel down the length of the nerve and not necessarily at the injured place.  Example:  I have damage to my spinal cord, but I feel most of the pain in my legs and arms --- further down the length of the nerve.

I would recommend telling your doctor that you are experiencing these nerve anomalies.  But, it may take time to get some answers.
