Mystery Symptom
« on: April 04, 2013, 08:22:59 pm »
For the past several months, I have experienced a feeling of something cold and wet on my leg, mostly my right one.  When I go to brush or wipe it off, it is not wet at all.  I thought I may be losing my mind - I have never heard of anything like this before.  I went to Google and learned, to my surprise, that there are other people with this symptom.  I am going to bring this up to my doctor soon.  I have so much going on, I hate to keep going back to the doctor between appointments, but I guess I should.  Have any of you ever had this sensation?

No, I have never heard of this before and of course I do not have it.  However, I have finished all the testing for a condition that I anticipate as either being some kind
of tic disorder, like tourette's syndrome or it is a seizure as these happen periodically.  I suspect that it is some kind of seizure.  In which case it may be epilepsy.

I've never heard that before.  Keep us posted.  I'm interested what the symptom is from.

It sounds like you are having some problems with the nerves or nerve endings in your leg, which could possibly be caused by a spinal problem.  Many prayers for your speedy recovery!
Have a wonderful day!

I think some type of mystery symptom happens to all of us at some point in our lives.  But with the way things are these  days they don't have to remain too much of a mystery.  Google or WebMD.com or something like that can usually point us in the right direction.

I've never heard of nor experienced anything like this but to me it sounds like something to do with either blood flow or nerves in the leg.  Hope you find out soon what it is and that you can recover.  Good Luck!!!!

I have Googled the symptoms, which was where I found the website where a lot of people had expressed they thought they were the only one that had these experiences.  Many of them mentioned nerves, possibly peripheral neuropathy.  I am diabetic, and I suspect it has something to do with that.  I can't find any medical website that explains it.  Thanks for all your good wishes.  I will update when I find out anything.

I have never heard of this either.  Good luck at the Doctors.  It sounds like it could be nerve related as I have some mild nerve damage in my upper right leg and every now and then i get weird sensations and sometimes a little pain .  I was informed that this was normal as my nerves are trying to regenerate.  The nerve damage was due to surgical procedure and I was informed of this hapening before the procedure.  Any way good luck in the diagnosis.

I have this too. I have MS, so I have always assumed it was something related to that. I think the body just does weird things sometimes though, so maybe it is nothing serious in your case.

I'm sorry to hear you've been going through this.  I didn't realize you are diabetic.  I hope you can find out exactly what is happening and that it's something which can be helped easily.  You're in my prayers - please keep me posted.  (((Hugs)))

I have some friends who also have MS, and I very much admire the positive outlook no matter what is happening day to day.  I'm in a chronic health conditions group, online, for 3 years now, and have gotten to know several ladies who struggle daily, me included, and have learned so much about so many health issues, multiple issues, what it does, how it affects, symptoms, triggers, types of medications, etc.  Everyone is so supportive and encouraging of/for each other.
