He is definitely in a better place now. he will be missed dearly just like Gene Siskel was missed when he passed, Just think now both Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert are together again in heaven best of friends they were when they were alive. Rest In Peace and we will see you at the movies we will save the aisle row for you.    :sad1:

It's sad news.I was always a fan of Siskel & Ebert.Their personalities transcended the film critic genre and defined it.I probably agreed with Ebert most often.RIP Roger.

I was very, very young when Siskel & Ebert first came on TV, but I was hooked. Even when I disagreed with him, I really trusted his viewpoint. I've grown to depend on his reviews before I see a movie. Over the many years it came to a point where I could read one of his reviews, and know off the bat if I was going to agree or disagree with him, based only on his writing, before I had even seen the film.

I remember watching Siskel and Ebert consistently when I was a kid.  Learned a lot about movies and perspectives on plots.  I typically favored Ebert's take on movies - just more my taste.  Admittedly I haven't watched shows like that for a while, but I do have fond memories.

Just learned about Roger Ebert's death a few minutes ago.  Back in 1988 a friend gave me a copy of his movie reviews (back then it was called a video home companion because videotapes were still prevalent.)  It changed my movie viewing habits and ways of choosing movies to watch forever.  I owe Mr Ebert a huge debt for that.  I will greatly miss his rational, literary approach to all the subjects he addressed, and I will miss his fine writing.

I hate this like you wouldn't believe. :'(

Sad to hear about his passing i grew up watching him. he will surely be missed.

Very sad to hear.  Must be very difficult for his wife. She took such good care of him for so many years.
