Ahhhh, animals! How I love them! My husband calls me, "Mrs. Doolittle!"
Right now, I'm living with 4 of my cats (all rescues) and my brother's cat, which also came from a litter I helped raise in my backyard; and is also the big brother of 3 of my cats. They range in age from 5 years to 12 years. I also have my wonderful little Brown Headed African Parrot, who is 22 years old now. My husband has my other 2 cats, of which one is a rescue and the other a Bengal, 5 and 11 years old, respectively. My son has taken Smokey, a cat he found under a bush in the heat of the Arizona summer as a kitten. Smokey is now 8 years old. We also have 2 dogs - a Boxer and an Australian Kelpie. Bruno the Boxer is 7 years old, and Bear the Kelpie we're not quite sure. He came to us via a man whose neighbor abused him.
Over the years, I have taken care of over 40 cats in my neighborhood, providing them with shelter, food, and lots of love. Many have been adopted and many have passed away outdoors. I've had good times and bad times with these wonderful animals and some of them I miss very, very much. LOL, you had to see my backyard when they were all sunbathing! My husband used to call it, "Lion Country Safari!" Ha!!!
Other animals that we've had over the years have been snakes, a turtle that someone had painted on her shell - the writing read "Edsel," so that's what we called her, and hermit crabs. I forgot to mention the fish we had. They grew to phenomenal size - to the point where we had a 75-gallon sized fish tank. You don't want one of those springing a leak, LOL.
Well, I guess you can tell I'm a sucker for animals!
