I'd rather be cremated and save my family the money.

My wishes are to be cremated and have my remains made into an artificial reef to be placed at sea.

I am undecided about this as I really haven't given it that much thought.  I was just having this discussion with my Sister the other day and she said she wants to be cremated.  I also have a fear of fire and the thought of me being cremated is scary to me.  I know I won't feel a thing but just the same it kind of freaks me out. :cat:

Cremation is a heck of alot cheaper than having a full fledged funeral.

I know my loved ones would like to see me for the last time in the event of my passing, so I would prefer to be buried.  I remember a lady I knew had cancer and passed.  She decided on cremation before she died, but they had a funeral so her loved ones could see her for the last time.  Her great-granddaughter was pregnant, and her baby is the spitting image of her. :peace:

I didn't understand when you said "your loved ones would want to see you for the last time", even if you chose cremation they would still get to see you for the last time.

A very close friend and co-worker chose cremation and before she passed she planed the whole thing. The funeral was held at a chapel and afterwards instead of a cementary they took the body to a crematory.

At one point of my life I wanted to be cremated. Talking about the subject, I saw this horror look on my Daughter face. I knew right then, I need to be buried. So buried I will be.

Cremation is a heck of alot cheaper than having a full fledged funeral.

I think the entire funeral system is a racket.  The average funeral is about $7,000.  This is insane to me.  I have thought seriously about cremation, but I have some friends who have serious problems with this.  My second option is the cardboard casket that can be purchased online.  The Bible says from dust we were created and to dust we will return - I don't think I need a silk lined mahogany casket to interfere with that

I prefer cremation for the same reasons.  I know God can find me no matter where I am, either underground or on a mantel.

I'm leaning toward cremation myself and my husband definitely wants to be cremated.  I don't like the idea of insects eating my body after being buried but don't like to think about being burned either.  I know I will not really be here when its done but I've always had a thought that I could really not be dead but once they start "preparing" me, that would finish me off for sure.  lol

I'd prefer to be cremated, mainly for cost reasons.  I haven't looked into which is better for the environment, but I would want whichever is the better choice for that.  If I were to be buried, I wouldn't want a fancy casket.
