Yeah some bulb plants like tulips and daffodils actually need to be planted while it is still cold to stimulate them when it warms up.

They are a hardy plant once they break the ground.  The leaves left a good insulation for them.  We've had a few inches of snow with the daffodils and other flowers blooming on top of the snow.  What an amazing God we have to create such beauty!
Have a wonderful day!

The leaves probably insulated your tulips and gave them a head start. It's so great to start seeing some signs of spring. I can't wait. I love to be outside.

That's great to hear about your tulips. I didn't know tulips were so hardy a plant. Where I live it's still in the 30's even though spring has begun, but the grass is out and at another location we went to there was some sprouting there. I like the spring, but it's slow coming here since there really isn't much activity for the bushes or trees. I'm glad you guys are seeing results where you live. I think we'll need another 3 or 4 weeks before we really see the spring here.

I live in Indiana. Lately we have been fortunate to get some nice weather so I decided to clean up some leaves from the fall.  When I moved the leaves I was surprised to see that my tulips had already sprouted 4 inches above the ground!  Last weekend we had 9 inches of snow on the ground so I know these were there before the snow.  I am surprised they didn't die!
Tulips rather like the cold. They won't even sprout without a period of cold.

Tulips are very hardy plants and can withstand a lot of cold weather.  Although it's still pretty cold here, it is spring and soon I will see all my perennials begin to sprout out of the ground.
