Home Remedies
« on: May 17, 2009, 03:33:54 pm »
There are many prescriptions and nonprescriptions or over the counter (OTC) medicines that try to eliminate that flem, but never get it all out. The remedy I am giving here has been in our family for over 100 years and has never failed. Let me advise you that the same has a very strong and unlikeable taste and smell, but it works and in less than a week you will be seeing the results. Here it is. Now you must prepare these ingredients before processing these. Garlic must be peeled off, the aloe must also be peeled off before grinding these. In your food processor, place an ear of garlic, a large portion of aloe, an ounce of honey, grind it all together until it is totally liquid and you will have the best potion there is to get rid of any type of chest/throat flem.
Place in the refrigerator to chill. Take a large spoonful and swallow it without trying to taste it. Getting a taste of it will probably turn your stomach upside down. Simply fill the spoon and without breathing or tasting it, swallow it. This potion in addition is very nutritional as a result of the three ingredients.
If you are allergic to any one of these ingredients--DO NOT TAKE IT, PERIOD. People with diabetes should not use this potion due to the high content of sugar in the honey. However, if you can get sugarless honey, then it will be great for diabetics too.

Well, here's what my mom taught me:  Take some honey, a small onion and the juice of one lemon and grate 1/2 of the rind.  Put it all into a pot (use the honey to taste, about 3 good tbs) and bring to a boil. Allow to cool and use it like cough syrup.  When you feel the phlem, take a teaspoon. Don't be afraid to eat the onions too.  That helps it to work faster!  AND when the phlem comes up, DO NOT SWALLOW IT, SPIT IT OUT! A lot of people don't realize that when you swallow the phlem, it does not go anywhere, it just sits!  Spit it out!

The remedy doesn't sound too bad, but I'm kinda grossed out by the whole swallowing of phlem. If they are going to do that why not just pick their nose and... ewww :-X

i love anything that is natural. i avoid aspirin if i can (except for stubborn hangovers)
i have a book for holistic healthcare. these work! and work even better for those who are open to it. something about the mindset that helps you to be receptive to natural healing methods. mind-body-spirit
