:heart: :heart: :heart: the Windows 8.  In answer to the earlier question you do not have to use the touchscreen, you can use your keyboard and a mouse.  The Start page, you can use the  new touchscreen version with you mouse if you want or with one click you have it look like the Windows 7 start page.  You can have more than one window open on your screen at the same time.  I am having a lot of fun with it.

:wave: I bet-cha I'm Old School...  I'm still running Windows XP / Professional;
If it ain't broke.......  lol  :thumbsup:

I still have a desktop with Windows XP, My laptop has Windows 7. I have only had my Laptop for two years. I don't have the tendency to quickly update or buy new products. I have been in IT (since IT was a field) and in Communications before that working with main frames! I like to see the reviews and test the product before buying. Working for the Government. I guess this is a plus because they buy in bulk and are very leary to buy a new Operating System. The government never even bought into Windows Vista and that was a good thing because it was a piece of garbage Operating System.

I updated to Windows 8 on my laptop.  It is a whole new learning experience.  I'm not sure I see how it is better than windows 7 except the finger screen benefit.  On my laptop I don't have that capability - so I'm still typing  :-

I have not had a chance to experience Windows 8, however I am in the process  upgrading my computer now and I just hope that Windows 8 is user friendly.

Ugh, I hate Windows 8 with extreme prejudice on desktop/laptop. I don't understand why Microsoft would put a tablet based OS on there :BangHead: . I can understand if I have a touch screen desktop/laptop and a tablet, but other than that it's horrendous  :bs: . The biggest thing I can't stand is that it doesn't have the start button in desktop mode, I have to use a third party software to automatically skip the metro menu and start on desktop mode with a start button (I heard there was some tweaks you can do that skips metro menu with a start button with organized menu, w/o third party program but apparently Microsoft keeps stomping out the tweaks in Windows 8). There also an annoyance of having the accursed metro menu pop up when you scroll over to the right hand side of the screen. All in all I was trying to make my Windows 8 look and feel like Windows 7, since I feel that the UI of Windows 7 was superior than Windows 8 in terms of regular desktop/laptop

Well, I've got some bad news for Windows XP users (because there are many more of us out there than you think).  Come April 8, 2014, Win XP will be obsolete - no more updates, security or otherwise.

I'm looking forward to a completely new computer, anyway, and of course, I'm looking towards Windows 8.
