Do you like gardening?

Do you love gardening or planting? When is the best time to start planting flowers?
I love flowers very much. I wondered if anyone can tell me which flower or which bulb
that best to plant it and forget it. I need flowers that will come back every year. Do anyone
knows which one?

I used to garden some until arthritis forced me to scale back my physical activities.   However, there is a lot of information on the internet about gardening, seeds, planting, etc.

I like to garden.  I don't do as much now as I use to because I have arthritis in both knees.  If you want to plant bulbs, they have to be done in the fall.  Most other flowers have to be planted in the spring after all the frost has gone.

Cashrose, first you need to know which zone of the country you live in.  For instance I live in zone 4 which is Minnesota.  You can do a google search about that and any kind of flower or plant you are interested in.  If you don't know which ones you are interested in, there are many different gardening websites online that have plenty of useful information.  One that I like is Better Homes and Gardens bhg.com, they have lots of infor and pictures and you can figure out which zone you live in to as they have a map available.  Hope that helps.  Oh yeah, I Love Gardening!!

I love gardening and do flower pots for my deck since the wildlife (and my dogs) would trash the flowers if I put them in the ground.  There is a magazine for my area of the country called Sunset and they also have a website where I can find which plants to do for whichever time of year it is.

Sunset is  great mag. Although they don;t always us in the right zone, There are mountains around us and some caprock. So we live in a bowl. Usually we can plant a couple of weeks sooner then those that higher. But what we do here is wait for the mosquite to put on some greenery and them it is time to plant gardens. I love to grow a garden, but am haveing to slow down with it. My hips won't allow me to do as much as i used too. But will still have a small garden as i love fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, also peppers. Will buy the rest at the farmers market. It is so much better then the store.

I have two haert shape flower bed in from of my house, so i have to plant flowers on them. They bring
beauty of my front yard and also the entire house.. love u all very much!!!

Ooooh, I just had a thought! Since you have heart-shaped flower beds, perhaps you could grow bleeding heart?  It's very pretty and one of my favorites!

My husband likes gardening. I, however, have the black thumb of death and do not enjoy gardening.

I love the results but it is a lot of hard work.  Like with anything else, do some online research or go to your local book store or garden supply.  For vegetables, raised beds and container gardens can be very productive, particularly if you have limited space.

I love every bit of it.  I love preparing the soil, planting, trimming, etc.  I do flowers, herbs, and foods.  Best time here is after the danger of frost has passed, which may be later this month. 

Oddly, I derive great pleasure from growing pumpkins.  I love vining plants.  So my favorites tend to be climbing roses, passionflowers, pumpkins, and melons.

I would take care of my grandmother's garden but now I don't even touch dirt
She mostly planted beans and tomatoes and those came back each year
