Personally that concept of meeting someone on line is a little scary to me, however I find that with a little investigative work and a few dollars I can give myself at least the comfort of knowing if they have a criminal background or not. I would not have a relationship of any kind with someone I had not met through family or friends without checking them out. Perhaps I watched too many episodes of Criminal Minds and America's Most Wanted I don't know.

I have made many many friends online who I never met in person but do miss them when they are not online to chat.  I also have met many of the people in person after knowing them online too.

There are people I've met online who I bonded very well with. Some I still keep in contact with. Over a decade ago before all the video chatting I bonded with a person based on our like for certain types of music and as we couldn't sing to each other we would type out the lyrics (and if she was like me sang to ourselves too) on the chat.

No, and I would not.  For all intents and purposes you may be setting yourself up for something you can't get out of.  You have no idea of who you're actually dealing with, and you're exposing yourself to a dangerous situation.  Why would I want to do something like that.

I have a few online friends but I never get to meet them. I think I like it that way.

No I've never really done that. There is some of my friends that I grew up with and have lost touch that I would love to reconnect with. I can't seem to find one by her name and the other we found on facebook and put in a friend request but he hasn't responded. I even sent a message saying that I didn't want to interfer with his life just wanted to talke to someone who knew me as we grew up.
