That is crazy and scary on both sides. Why would someone even think about using another person's picture and imagine meeting someone online and not even knowing if it's really that person or not.  :o

I never watched the show. It just gives the crazy other bad ideas. My idea of "catfishing" is going out on the boat and spend a lazy, fun day catching catfish on a hook. If it would just warm up enough to go.
yeah boat fishing pole or sitting on the bank so i have no idea what are you guys talking about can any one explain this to me in simple language

I find catfishing to be the act of someone who is insecure about who they are. I say be yourself and put your best foot forward. Anyone who is going to like you will like you. and anyone who doesn't may not have good taste in people.

The first time I watched that show I was shocked and so engrossed in it.  It's crazy .

Urban Dictionary:

1.    Catfishing

The phenomenon of internet predators that fabricate online identities and entire social circles to trick people into emotional/romantic relationships (over a long period of time).

Possible motivations: revenge, loneliness, curiosity, boredom

The term catfishing was inspired by the 2010 documentary "Catfish."
Gwen was worried that her online boyfriend was a phoney after she saw a TV program about Catfishing.

2.    Catfishing

Beeing lazy and watch tv or read and just do as little as possible when you could do other stuff. The reason for the term is that the catfish generally hang out on the bottom of the water, being lazy and doing all they need there without moving unnecessarily.
"I'm really tired, you up for some catfishing?"

"We could do some trekking, but I would prefer to take a chill day and just catfish."
"Catfishing sounds good to me."

I had not heard of "catfishing" used any other way except for fishing for catfish.  I need to get out of the hollow more often, I guess.
Have a wonderful day!
