I notice you listed all mainstream, hear them every five minutes artists. And Psy, whose earlier works talked about killing Americans.
Times have allowed music to make people accepting into hearing violence and degredation in words, which I find sad.

It's a sign of the times. We can't really blame the industry either, because as long as people support and listen to it, they're going to make money so why stop.

I hate some of the music that was mentioned -- especially Nikki Minaj and Byonce (or however it is spelled)

While I am disheartened at the lack of role models for our young people, and I am in no way defending the music with no morals or redeeming factors.

Remember when Elvis was considered too sexy and rock and roll in the 50's and 60's was accused of corrupting our children?   I wonder if our parents felt the same way about our music as we feel about the new music?
do you know who the "Roman" is that Nicki Minaj is talking about? it is a demon that she is possessed with. some of the pop stars such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, and Robin Rihanna Fenty are part of the Illuminati as well. take a look at Pitbull and LMFAO...always surrounded by many women. why? men, you only need one woman in your life, not 3 or more. as if I thought Right Said Fred was bad enough in the 90's, the twin brothers shaving off every inch of hair from their bodies. my parents hated it when I listened to KISS and Motley Crue and other loud music when growing up., but then again, my father and mother were into country, which I liked, until the age of 14. I have returned to country music.

I solved the problem nicely.  All I did was purchase an iPod that holds 148 GB of music.  I have gone through and loaded my iPod with mp3s of all the music I like.  And it spans from the 50s to even some current songs.  All the songs have a beat and this is commercial free.  Every song is played one after the other with no breaks.  I have over 2100 songs loaded on my iPod.

I guess the saddest part is the music is no longer about a quality song - it is about a dance mix that you can play in the clubs and nobody ever pays attention to the lyrics.  If a song has words that need to be bleeped out - they should not play the song at all.  That is the only way the artists will quit putting garbage in their music.

I just don't understand it,there is so much *bleep* in it and the way they dress. OMG if i had ever thought of wearing some of the clothes that are being worn now, my mother would have locked me up. And we wonder what is going on with his young generation. They are being brain washed with all of the hogwash they are hearing and think it is gospel. I pray someday this awful music goes away.

yes, Psy did speak out against America one time, but he apologized for it. have you noticed the way Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Osbourne, Orianthi, and Avril Lavigne dress? modest. Avril seems at
times a little loud for my eyes, but she looks sexier than Britney Spears, Pink, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, and Lady Gaga, and all the other popular artists.
bring back metal and rock to the forefront, and the mainstream garbage should shrink!

I think pop music has gotten steadily worse in the past 20 years, but there are always good bands that come out in every decade. It's just harder to find them, since the music industry would rather push the Bieber's and the Gaga's of the world.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

hahahaha other countries have psy!!! he is one of the worst pop artists in my opinion so mainstream... y dont u listen to underground if u knew wht they were saying it wuld probably blow ur mind... wnt some local talent? try living legends-local talent

Why do you think Psy is the worst? I've been a fan of Psy for years and his music is always great and fun.
You sound like a hipster or something, underground/less mainstream doesn't always mean it's 100 times better or something. It depends on personal taste anyway.
