Topic: wrong banking name  (Read 652 times)

wrong banking name

trying to set up for a direct deposit after entering account and routing it shows that i bank somewhere else. i didnt hit submit and tried several times to see it showed my correct bank name and it didnt im at a stand still in completing signing up. any ideas?

Are you absolutely sure you have the correct routing number? The routing number is what brings up the bank name, so it sounds like the routing number is wrong. Look up your bank routing number online to make sure you have the correct one.

positive i just used the same numbers for my fed return and it came out correctly

I had this issue a long time ago (not with FC though) because my bank had been bought out by another bank about three times in two years.  ::) It was still showing the old old name, not the newer one.

Could this be possible for you?

Make sure all your bank numbers are correct. If you still have problems you should send in a support ticket. Good luck.

Call your bank and explain that you are putting in the bank routing number shown on the left bottom portion of your check and it is coming up with a bank name that doesn't match the one on your checks.

They should be able to explain why there is a difference.  It may well be due to a recent merger, but it will make you more comfortable using the routing number.

yes call the bank for sure get that issue straightened out.   Make sure they did not type in the numbers incorrectly on your checks.  Could be a miss print.

I would call my bank if I was positive I entered the routing number correctly.  There has to be a reason this is not working for you.
