To all with children! What have you caught your child chewing on lately????

I just caught my 4 yr old chewing on a hi-liter!!! It's non-toxic, but reguardless, it still scares the living daylights out of you. Then you start thinking "OKAY! What else have you been putting in your mouth or chewing on that I don't know about?!?!" She is banned from markers and hi-liters for quite a while now!!
Anyone have similar experiences with their kids?

Yes, I have when they're getting more teeth. You'd think that when I have as many kids as I do that I'd remember exactly when each set of teeth comes in. I am pretty sure that there are 4 year old molars. I find my 3 1/2 year old daughter ( my only daughter out of 6 kids) getting into all kinds of things, too.

Really? That sounds nasty. I can't remember what it's called when people crave non-food things. I have heard kids can get that, too. Keep an eye on it. If she keeps getting into too many non-food things, it might be worth finding out if there is something more serious going on.

I was at wal-mart buying my 4 year old grandson some socks, when we made it to that cashier we could not find the price tag because he was chewing on it.....dye from the paper was in his mouth....she could not find a bar code anywhere, so I told him no new socks for you, he was upset....

My ten year old likes to chew on her hair. She doesn't realize what that does nor how it looks.

My daughter use to chew on my cell phone chargers and it made me so mad because I have gone through 4 already. It would always be the metal part. Not cool at all but I don't have to worry now because I hide them and she doesn't have an interest in that anymore mostly because she has most of her teeth now.

Well, I don't have kids of my own but I remember a couple times when my nephew was about one or two years old and I caught him chewing on a tube of rash cream. Thankfully he didn't ingest any of it. Another time I caught him with a tube of orajel, he was eating the stuff! YUCK! I guess he really liked the taste or the numb tingling feeling it causes. He also used to chew on his toothbrush, but I think that was because he hadn't quite got the concept of brushing his teeth.
