Jesus knew He had to die for our sins, and He went through alot before being hung on a cross between 2 thieves:
first Judas betrayed Him for 30 pieces of silver, and then He was arrested and tried in the temple being mocked, spat on, beaten, and denied 3 times by Peter, and then He was taken to see Pontius Pilate, who then sent Him to Herod, who could find no fault in Him, and then sent Him back to Pontius Pilate, who had Him scourged, and then He was mocked some more and a crown of thorns forced on His head and spat on and smote with a reed, and then Pilate beheld Him before the crowd, and asked the crowd if they wanted Jesus or Barabbus released, and the crowd chose Barabbus, and they wanted Jesus crucified. Pilate washed his hands of it and told the crowd they wanted Him crucified, so Jesus was given a cross and made the trip to Golgotha and He was whipped, spat on, and laughed at, and He fell several times, so the soldiers commissioned Simon of Cyrene to help Him, and once He got to Golgotha, they hammered the nails in, and when His cross was erected, they were mocking Him and soldiers were casting lots at His feet, and then he said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" and then one thief looked to Him and asked Him for forgiveness. He then forgave him and told him that he would be in Paradise. He also had asked His Father why He had forsook Him, and then He stopped and told His brother James to look after Mary, and He said "It is finished" and when He died, the veil in the temple split from top to bottom. He was taken down from the cross and put in a tomb and He arose 3 days later.

Yet He went through that so we could be forgiven of our sins.  He died and sacrificed himself so that others didn't have to.  I love Him for that.

it is called the gospel. the word "Gospel" pertains to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. 50 days after He had ascended to Heaven, He sent down the Holy Ghost into the Upper Room, and there was some men mocking the ones that were speaking in tongues, saying that they were drunk, and Peter made the sermon that is a very good part of Acts 2. there was also a man named Saul that persecuted the Christians and then when he was on his way to Damascus to deliver some letters, Jesus knocked him off his horse and blinded him and then he was taken to a house and prayed over and could see again and he was renamed Paul, and he had undertook the missionary journeys.

  Thanks........I know this story well but it never grows old hearing it again, we are so blessed that we were loved by God enough to have this happen on our behalf.

Amen, amen!! What a merciful Father we have.  I sometimes receive blessings I question if I even deserve.  He said if you repent and believe you shall receive and He's shown his promises to be true.  I know it seems unfair when people who don't even believe seem to be doing better than believers sometimes but He said lean not on your own understanding so I believe everything happens for a reason.  That's why I'm not upset about not being able to move to Texas this year- and I was SO looking forward to that.  We have to understand that God's plan trumps ours.  To pay for our sins was a heavy price to pay, but he did it for us, and I thank Him for that.
