What does the word racism even mean? I know what it means but the actual definition of it. I strongly thing there's a difference between not liking a person and being racist toward somebody. I think people should know the difference these days. For example: I hear people use "oh that's gay.." when they see someone act or do weird stuff. But in reality it's the wrong use of words people use

Prejudiced maybe or more preferential toward ones own or a certain race. Racist no. I myself personally dont know anyone who truely soley voted for someone because of their race and no other issue, not political affiliation or religous preference or geographical or some other facet came into play and i cant imagine that there really are many who actually said "hey im puple w polka dots so im votin for the purple w polka dot guy, dont need to know anything else about him. hes ppd and so am i!"
I also like to think that there werent many people who said "i will vote for anybody but the purple polka dot guy. purple polka dot guys and ladies dont have no place runnin my country/state/city/schoolboard/talentshow"

Just wondering if it could be considered racism to vote for someone of the same race simply because they are of the same race?
you serious? sometimes people are just comfortable with what they know... but if they are hating on others or there is segregation thats different...then yeah...its stupid to vote for someone because they are the same race as you...what about voting because you like their political views or feel they are the right one for the job??

It may be considered racism and/or prejudice but either way its wrong. To vote for someone just because they are the same race for you, they could have horrible policies and still make it into a high position. Race shouldn't have anything to do with people in general. We are all a part of the same race, the human race.

Exactly. Is more prejudice than it is racist though. If they said they wouldn't vote for someone that wasn't their race, then it'd be racist. Actually, I think race isn't even a valid way to classify. Ethnicity is more correct.
But anyways, voting for someone just because they're the same race as you is terrible. Especially if you don't know what their beliefs, policies, & etc. are.

I suppose it could be seen this way.  However, if you're a smart voter, you would actually look in to each candidate's credentials in order to make a better choice.  I didn't see that too much in the past Presidential election.  I DO believe that many people voted on a race basis rather than the particular candidate's worth.  Don't get me wrong, I don't care what color a candidate is.  If I think he or she fits the needs of my country, I will vote for him/her.  I personally didn't particularly care very much for either candidate.  I simply chose the lesser of two evils because there was no other choice.  I also tend to believe that voting, these days, is fixed.  Too much fraud going on and not enough investigations in to it.  We are ALL sheep being led to the slaughter.
I guess it depends on the intentions as well as the thoughts in which they considered voting for this candidate in the first place.I agree with your message totally.

Racism is just another form of hatred.  Racism hurts its victims, as well as it offenders.
