Beef vs. Turkey
« on: February 05, 2013, 07:28:11 am »
I'm trying to eat healthier.  I've switched from hamburgers to turkey burgers.  Also, I use turkey for everything now, chili, meatloaf, spaghetti, etc.  I really don't notice any difference.  Has anyone "switched" and can you taste the difference?

I have tried both but for me nothing takes the place of a big ole grilled beef hamburger.  :)

I love turkey, but I love beef, too.  The difference for me is whether ANY of the meat is organic or not.  I buy as much organic meat as I possibly can.  The animals aren't shot full of antibiotics and who knows what else they're putting in to our meat these days.  The organic meats also have a phenomenal taste and tenderness compared to the other stuff.

I was a vegetarian in high school and then a VEGAN, until an overweight family friend talked me out of it. Beef is causing true ruin in today's elderly. The brain damage from all the industrially fattened cows is the cause of comments about the elderly being dim witted. I the past the elderly were noted for their wisdom. I eat beef once a month because I like the taste, but like tuna or large fish I love, once a month may be to much. (Tuna, blues and other large fish are full of mercury.)

Turkey is good, but beef is also good.  I think everything in moderation is just right!

I tried switching to turkey.  I could taste the difference between the turkey and the beef.  I did not like the taste of turkey in my usual beef dishes.  I quickly switched back to beef.  Yet, I still like the taste of turkey in my chili.

I eat mostly meat alternatives at home, but I do eat turkey.  The difference in taste is easily noticeable between beef and turkey in my opinion.  Turkey burgers have less fat and sodium, but more tenderness.  Still tasty nonetheless, I definitely wouldn't turn down a plate. lol

I usually reserve turkey for the bigger holidays like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.  Most other times its beef.

I like turkey, mainly because it is a lot of it to eat.  I love beef too.  But switching to one and giving up the other is not an idea, especially to me.
