I don't think I even understand the original question.  I'll take a stab in the dark and say: "as people."

I'm going to be honest here, years and years ago when I was growing up, it was really never heard of, and then when I became a teenager, into young manhood.. I kinda made fun of it, and joked around like everyone else.. Then I met a very special Lady who already had 2 kids.. Well one came out of the closet, and told us he was gay.. Learning more about it.. I understand it.. It all comes down to it, when we are naked, and have nothing, we are all made the exact same.. what we like, what we do, what we eat, what we drink.. it's all preferance.. But all in all.. we are all the same..

Society is changing so rapidly. What my parents taught me is the total opposite of what I will be teaching my kids. I have bi-racial children and I believe that a person is a person is a person. Their personality should be what they are judged by.

Well, how does the world see anything else for that matter?  Like white people, black people, Native American people; people with tattoos or piercings, people who might wear jewelry familiar with a particular religion, on and on.  I don't believe any business should overlook anyone if the person is qualified for the job.  If you're talking about racism or a place of business being perceived as unfair, it's a fact of life.  No business has to hire you if you don't fit the criteria they're looking for.  Some businesses have a certain image they project, and hiring someone who doesn't fit that image would be counter-productive.

It is becoming pretty normal. But we will always have those who can't accept it like anything else. We better get used to it and try to see it as what really is. It's someone's way of life.We may agree with it or not but we should accept it as normal because it was always there anyways.Love is love and is nobody's business to judge it.

:(I think they should let boy scouts of every age and background and sexual orientation join. They had a thing about this on the news anyway the president of boyscouts seems to not agree well if the girlscouts are open to everyone I think the boyscouts should be too. Just my opinion, besides that do young boys already know if they are gay or not and if they are who cares its not fair to judge others this way especially in this day and age. Its not the 1950's anymore this is the year 2013.

I have some gay friends

Ummmm, no. you don't.  You THINK you have gay friends.  You wouldn't want to deny the marriage of a REAL friend.

Quote
but I don't believe in Gay Marriage. I think the world sees gays in a positive light now especially in the US. I think gay marriage could be the future for all 50 states in America. This is not from a disgruntled conservative but it is just the way society is going. It is like what was wrong 50 years ago is made right today. We are redefining morality. It is an interesting debate.

Just sad that you feel this is acceptable

My only issue is gay marriages.  That seems totally wrong to me.  Plus what is wrong with just living together as friends unless there is financial advantage or other equally logical reason.

Because they want to celebrate their love and commitment. You know, like any two people?
Why does it seem wrong to you? Without misquoting the Bible.

They are as human as you or I.  They deserve to be treated better.  The fact is, gays have gotten a bad rap.  I have a nephew who is gay, and that is because he was molested by one of his mother's male friends from the age of 5 until he was 7.  His molester died in prison.  I have a cousin who is gay, who was molested by her babysitter when she was 7.  I have a niece who is gay.  She acts more like a man than she does a woman, but she has the female parts to show it.  I treat them as they should have been treated because they are people, not because the word "gay" has been attached to their lives. 8)

I hope to not offend you but I am offended at how you wrote that your nephew and cousin are gay because they were molested. Just as straight people are straight it is the same for those who prefer the same sex. It is not because they were raised a certain, molested, had two of the same sex parents or were dressed as the opposite sex growing up. We are all built the same with one blood, we don't chose our color skin as we don't chose who we love and how we feel. Just my opinion, not wanting to start anything. I loved how you ended you phrase

Well, heres the problem I have....Im not allowed to have my own opinions, its not a free country, because I am only able to agree with what liberal people say.  Companies aren't having choices if they feel that it is right or wrong because they have to provide insurance to both is a classic example of how its not a free country.  And, the reason why we talk about it now in reference to some of the comments is because it was kept in the closet until the last decade or so.  People had morals back then and knew that is was wrong so it was hidden.  Now people are blatant!!  I find it disgusting, morally wrong.  I don't want to have to support it.  And if i truly lived in a FREE country, people wouldn't be mad and upset by this post.  However, I would never treat a person bad because of their choices, I wouldn't preach at them, but I certainly would tell them if they wanted to know.

I say, if that is what the person chooses then so be it. At the end of they day, its their life and will have to answer for that. We are not hear to judge a person but to treat people like we would want to be treated. How do we expect to be respected when we don't respect anyone else. They are human too. Move on from that. I personally don't agree with it but hey who am I to judge how they feel. I have a few gay friends and they are happier and fun to be around.
