why is everyone doing taxes early

You can do your taxes whenever as long as you have all your forms. i'm not sure if there is a certain date you have to wait for for them to release and refund to you. You should do some research online to see when the best time to do it is.

January 30 is the first day the IRS will accept e-filed returns, but your right that you can have them done before that. The IRS in previous years released a refund chart which broke down when you would get your refund based on the date you filed, but they aren't doing that this year. Too much fraud so there could be a delay in your refund this year.

If you do your taxes early, you get your money back faster.  I'm certainly not waiting until April 15th to do mine!  I'll probably do mine in the middle of next month when I have all the paperwork I need.

i cant file my return yet beacuse i am still waiting for my info about my investments. If i had a chance or had everything right noew i would file as soon as i could because it is my money not the governments.

I did my taxes a few days ago just because I don't wanna wait until the last minute or worry if I did it or not. The IRS already accepted my tax return and now I'm just waiting for them to deposit the money in my bank account

The IRS isn't accepting any returns until January 30 so you might want to double check that.

They already received it and I'm just waiting for them to approve it and send my money

I like to do my taxes early so I can get my mind off my money issues! At least I have some reassurance that money will be coming my way!

Normally I do, but this year I have been so busy I have not even though about it.  I had heard that federal refunds might take a long time to get this year but I don't know if that is true.

We always do it right away, not only to get our refund sooner but also to just get that paper work off my desk. . . there is already enough junk on it.

As soon as we get all the paperwork we do it.  Then like so many have said, it's done and we don't have to think about it again.  If I owe money though, I don't send it in until April 15th.  Last year there was some delays in refunds, and they said it was because so many people that owe don't send the money until the last minute.  I do them right away, and if I owe a little (under 100 bucks) I send them in immediately just to clear off my desk.

I like to file early so I can get my money early and faster, last 2 years plus this one I have to do it so my daughter can get her FAFSA information in for the college applications so I need to get it is as soon as possible.

I never file early, even if I am getting a refund.  I try to beat the deadline and that's about it.
