I would learn how to read and write Braille pretty darn quick since I'd go crazy not being able to read.

I think I would bawl my eyes out for quite a while. I'm a big horse lover and have a wonderful horse of my own. Some horses are great with people with various challenges, but I don't think my boy would be safe to handle if I was blind. If going blind meant having to give him up, absolutely I would cry. Finding another equine companion wouldn't lessen the pain of losing him.

It wouldn't bother me to be blind because then I wouldn't be judging everything by looks it would be by sound....a blessing isn't only seeing but it's also hearing the sounds of everything around you....

If i went blind i'd just have to suck it up and learn how to live my life without my sight.

I would not cry or feel sorry for myself. Well, I might... but just for the briefest seconds and then I will use my other senses to help
me navigate through life. When one sense is weakened, the others are heightened.

It is really weird, but I think about this often when I am in the shower with my eyes closed tight so they don't get soap in them.  I feel my way to the soap and have even shaved my legs with my eyes closed tight.  I would most certainly listen to more music.  I love music, but sometimes I don't listen to it because there is so much on TV and the internet to distract me.  If I could not see, I would enjoy music even more.

:crybaby2:would you lay down and cry? would you feel like it's the end of the world that you know? Well it's not the end of the world. You know how I know? Because I'm legally blind now. I've been this way for 3 years, after I've had a fairly longevity of being able to see like you do, or better. I've been trying to promote my children's book to aid those who have this rare eye disease like I do. This is how I've dealt with the blindness. I'm unable to do the work that I've done for the last 30 years, and am still coming up with new ways to keep me from feeling sorry for myself.  Oh and the 1 thing I really hate? The feeling in my finger tips, or should I say non feeling. I think I've burned off my finger prints trying to cook.  Yoweee. So this is me. How about you. Where would you be if you went blind?
I had walleye as a youngster, and one eye was taped shut, and unfortunately it pulled the other eye shut too. I had to feel my way around. if I did go blind, I would have to go through this
big adjustment period, but it would not be the end of the world. one time when I was married, my then wife said she went blind, but I knew she was lying. I should have told her my experience
when I was younger. blind people can do everything nowadays but drive. you can use a computer with audio devices to tell you what keys you are pushing. usually, if you lose one sense, the others
take over.

First I would probably cry a lot and then work my way to accepting and adapting to the faith of it.

Make the best of it, although sight is everything. It would depend on how old I was; if I went blind as a senior citizen, it wouldn't bother me nearly as much as a younger age, because at least then I would've already lived long enough to experience enough of the world.

I would do alot of the same things that I do now.  Primarily I would try to be the best that I can be.  I do that now, with sight, why would I change my ambition? I would certainly have to make arrangements to accomodate my inability to see but I think that where there is a will there is a way. Computers have opened up an entire universe for people that are visually impaired.  I do so much of my work at the computer that I am certain that I would still be able to make a comparable living. I would probably shave my head so that I wouldn't have to worry about what my hair looks like.  I would have to get accustomed to the layout of my house so that I wouldn't be tripping over things but these are things that can be overcome.

OMG that would suck (no offense) I like the way my eyes are just fine and hope nothing changes - it's one thing to be born blind but to know what you are missing, no thank you - although I do believe and God and know that with him I could handle it

That's my worst nightmare but I'd have no choice but to learn how to live with it.
I'm an artist and I know someone who went blind as an adult and don't know how she learned to live with it... I guess we don't know until we find ourselves in that situation...  :BangHead:

If I went blind, I would go through a phase of depression. Then I would pick myself up and have to learn to read braille like a friend of mine does.

I would probably turn to her for support and help.
