So Why Does Internet Say Things Are Free Then Want To Charge You A Arm And Legg

Saying these are free, is the easiest way to catch people's attention. It's a little misleading, but who doesn't like Free? Now, when you say they charge, do you mean they say it's free and when you get to the page it list a price. because with a Company I work with you can do a Free trial offer and if you do not like it you can cancel it and if you do not cancel it then you would get charged. So it's kind of crazy.

That's an old business trick... People always want stuff for free, no matter what it costs. For example, there was this fisherman that was trying to sell fly-fishing lures. He was charging a couple of dollars for each lure, but then shipping was free. Unfortunately he didn't sell many lures because people thought that $2 was too expensive for a lure. So he changed tactics and offered free fishing lures (just pay $5 for shipping and handling). Not only were people paying more in total, but he was also getting many more customers, just because people saw the "free" offer and fell for it hook, line and sinker (ok, I just had to...)

Years ago, as a young married adult still in college I was so excited when an encyclopedia sales person offered a free set of encyclopedias just for allowing her to come in and make a presentation.  My spouse was skeptical but wisely allowed me to find out for myself.  After a lengthy presentation I discovered that the "free" encyclopedias were available only with a costly subscriptions to yearly updates.

It is an advertising ploy. They say whatever they have to say to get you sucked into whatever it is.

They do that to get your attention and lure you into their scheme. I have found a few things that are advertised as free and are indeed free.  :)
