i  hate how many stores are changing policies and you cant double up anymore... and you save more just buying generic or store brand most of the time

:cat:Right, yet they aren't losing anything (other than immediate daily profits) for honoring manufacturer's coupons rather they be printed from newspaper, computer or loaded from website to card. And there is also a trend to reduce the amount of generic/store brand due to storage/manufacturing cost outside of store. And I am willing to bet, for every item that you purchase with a coupon, you buy 2 or 3 other items that are higher priced, not on sale, or not an intended purchase. They also make a higher profit on name brand and bonus purchases/incentive to cost for themselves too. :confused1:

Couponing, I love couponing!!! From grabbing tear pad tickets in the stores, to clipping ones out of magazines. I trade many a month that I don't need and get others I want in return with people from different sites. Then there are always ones sent from companies and even samples too. I can't help it but now that I have kept at it I have saved thousands in just the last year. Everything from toilet paper, milk, deodorant, cheese, pasta, iced tea, etc...But I have never had the opportunity to double up on coupons, where I live in Canada that is not honored. Many stores don't even accept printed coupons and some don't accept any at all. What really sucks for cashiers I find here in Canada that I wish would change is that they don't scan the bar codes of the coupons like they do in the states. It would make it so much faster for the cashiers and for the shopper with the coupons as the ones waiting in line behind them! Also I hate when a coupon value is let's say $5 and the product is under that and they discount you the amount of the article. Why not the entire $5 when the company will reimburse the whole amount anyways!

I truly enjoy couponing but I get lazy. This makes me mad of course after I shop and get less for what I spend. There are many options to use the coupons and really save money. I don't expect to live off the coupons but it is super nice to save even $10-20 per shopping trip. If I can save $40 a month that is a full tank of gas for me ;-) I always look at the tank of gas thing, especially since gas is ridiculously high!
