Reality TV
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:42:12 am »
Is it just me or are you getting tired of all these reality tv shows?  Think how rich we made the Kardashians by watching their stupid show.  A family of people who have no talent but we gave them tons of money by watching them.  Then we have all the Housewives on Bravo, last night the Bachelor was on (that's a joke), and the list goes on & on  :BangHead:

I guess I about 90% agree with you.  I enjoy the reality talent shows like American Idol.  Other than that, yes, the ones you mentioned and that Honey Boo-Boo aren't worth the money that they are getting.  What is so special about Kim Kardashian anyway?

I've been sick to death of these shows ever since the beginning of it all with the Real World on MTV. I can't believe people watch this garbage when there are alot better things to do in life. :angry7:

Some of them are still pretty good, some  should not be on the air!

Some reality shows are okay such as Cake Boss, Deadliest Catch, and those that have a competition. The bad ones are ones such as the Kardashians, Housewives, and Honey Boo-Boo.

Reality shows are cheap to produce and apparently easier to make than regular programming.  On the other hand, reality shows typically lack creativity.  The people in these programs are usually self centered, narcissistic, and totally devoid of any real talent.  Yet look at the followers these shows have.  Just another example of the dumbing down of America. Very sad. :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

I watch a couple of them, but most of them are pure trash or copies of other shows that are getting progressively worse. Every one of those housewives shows should be taken off the air, Honey BooBoo should have never even been considered, and now I've read that there is a new show being developed about a supposed rapper and his 11 children from 10 different mothers all living in the same house! It's not only bad TV, it's becoming a bad influence on the next generation of children! Sorry, I better stop before I really get carried away.  :angry7:

Most reality shows are okay when they start out. But the longer they run you start to see more "scripted scenes" put in to the programs.

The only reality shows I really like is the compitition type shows like someone else stated. I've been following Idol since it started and you have to admit they have produced some very good artists. Then again some of them that have been in the finals, in my opinion, shouldn't have been. Then there is DWTS and So you think you can dance that is good too. My husband though prefers things like Deadliest catch and Swamp people.

I like some of the ones that involve a competition, but if it's just about some D List celeb's boring life, then no thanks!

I like watching some reality TV shows that are entertaining to watch but I do not care too much for all of them for they are sometimes scripted shows.

if you want to see true reality go to the beach and watch the animals - no not the people the true animals - you will laugh, cry and wonder at the true reality - of course you could just close your eyes and watch the reality show of your own life - what a true tragedy or can you find the humor in life
