It seems silly to ban guns because there will always be certain people who have them, anyway.  I think more and more people are buying guns because they want to feel empowered enough to defend their selves, their loved ones and their territory.

That being said, no.  It wouldn't make sense to ban guns.
Have a great day!

I don't think guns should be banned, but I do think we need to crack down on the ability to get semi automatic weapons.  There is no use for that kind of weapon, you can't hunt with it , so what is it good for?
I think the time for talking and talking and talking about this subject should be over.  The government needs to crack down big time and not let the NRA govern the situation.  The government is for the people and of the people, not a large, heavily funded lobbying group.  Aren't people tired of waking up every few days or weeks and hearing of another mass shooting?
I know there is also the huge issue of mental health and the lack of funding for it.  The people in "the know", need to come up with a comprehensive plan to identify and treat people with mental health issues.  I have a hard time believing someone just wakes up one day and decides to take out a classroom of children and no one ever noticed that he was having problems or seemed "off", or whatever.      :peace:

i dont know where i stand on that but i was reading a news site that said here in the US there are over 1.4 million gangs so i assume each one of them has access to guns etc.  I dont know if removing  certain guns would help. then of course we have a lot of hunters in my area.  I wonder how they  would do it

Absolutely NOT! What an idiotic idea! Then only the bad guys would have guns...(you think they would follow the law? Get real!) All us law abiding citizens would be walking around with a bullseye on our back. The criminals would know they could mug you or break into your house to rob, rape or whatever, with the knowledge that you were gun free and defenseless. No....never ban weapons in the US..our constitution forbids it, you know.....the right to bear arms. If by some horrific fluke that ever did happen, I would never give up my weapon. I have had a concealed weapon permit since I was 21 years old, and I am armed most places I go. I vowed long ago, that I would never be a "victim"..You break in my house, you leave in a body bag, period, end of story.
Think I'm radical? No just a witness to a family member maimed and brutalized by a robber. Not this girl, no way no how!

If guns could truly be banned, I would support it.  That being said, nothing is totally inaccessible no matter how illegal it is.

If we outlaw guns...only the outlaws will have guns.  There are plenty of ways to kill people and if we prevent one lunatic from getting a gun the chances are that they will devise another method with which to carry out their plan.  If it is our/your time to go it is our/your time to go.  Spending all of this time and money on something that can be circumvented is just busy work.  I also think that Homeland security is a waste of time, money and is an invasion on our civil rights.  People can make bombs out of anything.  C4 plastique explosive can be modeled into an undetectable part of your computer.  Plastic/rubber guns exist.  If someone is on a mission they will carry it out.

No simple as that. Your an idiot if you want them to be banned in the US.
If you think the Government can protect you better than yourself your insane.
Do you really think Obama is going to give up his protection.....
And also do you really think the Government cares about guns?
NOOO its all about CONTROL!
It starts with guns because they don't want to control people who are armed and ready to fight back.
It ends with you giving up your rights.
Should guns be banned in America?  Only if your a government looking for COMPLETE CONTROL of the PEOPLE.  This is not about guns, it's about CONTROL.

"When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny."

     Thomas Jefferson

I agree, and I love this quote.

I would hate to see the guns get banned in america because what are you gonna use to protect yourself? You gonna need something more than a baseball bat or knife especially if the other person have a gun.

Sometimes people use their words to hurt people... let's ban freedom of speech too.

No, I honestly don't feel like guns should be banned. I don't feel like it is right to punish everyone because of the stupidity of a few.
That said, I do think that everyone that would like to own a gun should be required to take a psychological test to make sure that they are mentally stable. In addition to that, I think that gun owners should be responsible for the actions that are taken with their guns, whether they were in the owner's possession or not.

Under no circumstances should guns be banned in the United States.  I guarantee you I sleep a lot better at night knowing that there is a gun within arm reach.   If you think that your local government law enforcement is going to protect you.   Consider that the average response time for a law enforcement officer is greater than 10 minutes.  A home invasion or break in is usually over within 5 minutes.  Now I grant you that a gun is not going to be the all answer to home safety and it is no guarantee that your home is going to be any safer.  But at least you can feel safer knowing you have something to defend your property other than a baseball bat.

Only the idiots will say yes. The current problems with guns should be met with more logical methods of control. Not a ban.

Thomas Jefferson said the best. No guns should not be banned. That is a really scary thought.
