Yes, the house does seem very plain after the decorations are taken down. That seems strange, because we go through most of the year with the house undecorated anyway! I guess it doesn't take long to get used to something!

Yes, it does - takes some time to get used to it ... How about putting up some Valentine posters
or photo's ...

I agree.  Things do look plain and blah.  I think that's why in January and February so many people put a fresh coat of paint up.  My husband wanted to take our tree and decorations down this weekend than received a last minute text from his brother that he might be coming out for a visit...so now we're leaving the tree up to keep the holiday spirit around for a bit.

We sometimes slowly take ours down for that very reason, that way we can still enjoy some decorations little by little.  I especially miss the Christmas lights.  It makes everything look so cozy.

Yes, the house looks plain and ordinary without all of the decorations.  Taking all of the decorations down makes me feel a little sad.  I was so surprised that my parents undecorated our entire house in just one day.

I always thought so too. Even this year I didn't put up a lot because of my pregnancy I took down what I had and the house looks so plain.

How many of you find a decoration 6 months later that you have been seeing everyday, but didn't mentally notice?

People seem to be in a hurry to take down Christmas trees and decorations this year.  It seems a shame to put so much work into decorating and not enjoying it longer.  The house does seem empty.  However, keeping it all up too long is not good as well.

The house looks so big and bare without the decorations, but it is much easier to do the cleaning now. The Christmas lights and outside decorations are still around in our neighborhood, so the Christmas feeling is still around for me

Since there wasn't much decorating done just the christmas tree the house doesn't look or feel bare to me, just more room for the kids to run around lol.
