prenatal vitamins
« on: January 03, 2013, 07:03:10 am »
Is it OK to miss taking prenatal vitamins every other day? BC I have such a busy schedule keeping the house clean and cooking and washing clothes and being sick on top of all that sometimes it just slips my mind completely! I hope that me missing some days won't affect my baby's health!  :dontknow:

Your baby should be FIRST on your list... everything else is secondary... your baby is the most important thing that you will ever produce and if you want that baby healthy and hearty, then TAKE YOUR PRENATAL VITAMINS and if you don't please don't reproduce again...

There were millions of babies born healthy before prenatal vitamins.

I missed a few days here and there in the beginning. Then I set a reminder on my phone to remind me of little day to day tasks like a bill thats due. Take my vitamin. Feed the fish at two. Things like that and I set an alarm on my phone to remind me. That way I kept a routine schedule and never forgot.

It is not a prenatal problem only. Our diets are deficient of certain basic nutrients. All should be taking some type of vitamins and minerals supplements.

When I was pregnant taking those vitamins was sort of a pain.  But, I had to do it for the baby.  Sometimes now I take them to keep my hair from shedding so badly since I had the baby.  They say you are suppose to take your prenatal vitamins up to a year after having your baby.

I would think it would not be a good idea.  You should consult you doctor concerning anything that you take while pregnant because drugs are particularly damaging to a young fetus. Make sure if you are taking a supplement that you doctor knows about it.  Even supplements can have unknown or severe side effects.

Well, people had healthy children before prenatal vitamins came around, so I doubt missing one would be a big issue.  As long as you aren't doing anything that might harm your kid, you should be fine.  However, since you actually have them, I would probably work on creating a routine so that you don't forget again.

It's okay if you forget, but seriously try not to. Try to set some sort of reminder for yourself. If you don't get enough calcium you could suffer some bone loss and your teeth will start to go bad. I have known women who didn't take them at all and their babies were born healthy, but that's never a good choice.

Nothing will happen if you don't take them but it a back up for when you don't eat properly

Don't worry I didn't take them all the time with my first two kids now 12 and 9 and the are perfectly fine and healthy babies. one 7 11oz and the other 8 pounds.I'm 9 months pregnant now and i have not taken them everyday and my son is doing wonderful. I just had an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. We tend to worry alot when we're pregnant. As long as you are eating right and not abusing your body. Your baby will be fine. Prenatal vitamins are supplements to help just like regular multi vitamins. Your baby will be fine.

I'm the worst and remembering to take vitamins.  So when I was pregnant with my 3 I tried to take them but didn't do that great of a job.  I agree with the guy who said babies were born healthy all the time without prenatal vitamins before.  As long as your eating a healthy diet you will get the vitamins from your food naturally.  Your baby is #1 and will be beyond that golden age of 18 so adding trivial stressers over forgetting a daily vitamin...so much bigger things in life to worry about...know what I mean.

Missed days should be so bad but as along as they are do not get 3 or 4 days. I think the vitamins are a great supplement to your baby along with a good diet or practice of good eating habits. I know I did not eat any sea food. You know see food and just eat it no matter if it was healthy or not. lol Well sea food actually though I did not eat, or not much fried foods.
