My daughter love drinking milk, Now that the price of milk is increasing I'm worried and I don't know what should be the replacement that is less expensive than milk?

Powdered/dry milk is usually cheaper. But I've heard it doesn't taste the best.

You can make your own rice milk or almond milk. Blend a bit of cooked rice with a lot of water in a blender add vanilla and sweetener to taste, Use a strainer to catch the little chunks of rice. It is very cheap and can taste pretty good. I'm sure there are more specific recipes online as well.

Have you tried the WIC program? If your income falls within their guidelines they help by giving you milk vouchers to purchase milk in the store. I have always used WIC. My husband and I both work and make about middle class income and receive WIC. Just a suggestion.  ;) (You can go to your local health department. It doesn't hurt to ask. Many government programs I apply for even if I know I probably won't qualify for, but in a few occasions, I did qualify for some programs that surprised me! lol )

I developed some lactose intolerance several years ago and have been drinking milk alternatives for quite a while.  My first choice is Rice Milk, and those prices started to rise a little recently, and started to also use Almond Milk.  I've tried soy milk - personally I really didn't like that at all.  Coconut milk was okay, but was too "deserty" when cooking things - my oatmeal was more like a rice pudding than hot cereal using coconut milk.  Those are the dominant ones I've seen around (outside the powdered varieties which I'm not a fan of myself).

Interesting post above about making your own rice milk...I may need to give that a try when I get myself a better blender.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the legislation they pushed through will prevent milk prices from doubling.  Of course, it wouldn't have been an issue were it not for all the subsidies they've done for years.
