What puts your kids to sleep?
« on: April 30, 2009, 09:24:01 am »
For some reason both of my children get relaxed and fall asleep when I play Slipknot...maybe because I went to see them in concert when I was pregnant with both of my kids :dontknow:

That could be it.  I think it depends on what kind of day a kid has that will send them to slumber land or what your usual night time thing you do that they like.

Reading her the "Sweet Dreams" bedtime storybook collection by Scholastic and a bedtime prayer usually works after a long day of playing outdoor games and activities. The child is off to snoozeland within minutes!

The kids I babysit for always like to be read to and then ignored.  If you pay attention to them they stay awake.

I don't have kids, but I once made my niece fall asleep by reciting every poem I know in a dreamy monotone. My repetoire is very limited, so luckily she fell asleep fast.

honestly my hubby started a good habit with our daughter since she was born he has fed her and turn out the light and said ok its time for bed and she falls asleep. she has always slept through the night for the most part though. she is like her parents loves to sleep.

:wave:My son ALWAYS fell asleep riding in the car.. When he wouldn't go to sleep. I'd just drive around the corner a couple of times, and he'd start snoozing away.

A routine.  I stretch out with my 2yr old we watch tv and unwind.  when it is getting close to her bedtime i will tell her that when the show is over that she has to pick out a movie and go to bed.  She is usually out in less than 10 min.  She just lays there and watches it till she dozes off.
