cashing problems
« on: December 27, 2012, 08:48:57 pm »
I got my check this week and when i went to cash it at the check cashing place they refuse to cash my check when i ask why the lady said they don't cash from bank of the west which is where the check is drawn from and to go there but there's no bank of the west where I  live. Has anyone had this problem? Do anyone know where else I can cash my check.

Hello,

If you dont mind me asking.  Where are you located if that isnt asking too much?  I had never heard of Bank of the West, but lo and behold there are a couple near me when I googled it.

You could deposit your check in your bank account and it will clear in a couple days, hope this helps!

If you don't have a bank account, maybe you can try other check cashing places including independent convenience stores. You can even try Wal-Mart and grocery stores.

Yeah I looked it up cause i never heard of that bank before and is on located on the west and I'm on the east, there's no way i can cash my check in that bank, I'll keep looking at other places.

You might want to have it go to your PayPal account if you have one, if not it is to get one and your check will be deposited directly into your paypal account.

I was surprise to see Dollar General advertising that they accept Paypal.

The best way to do with a check is to deposit them in  your bank's account instead of cashing it. or get a paypal account so that it will be deposited directly and it is faster.

I have a PayPal account but is not verify cause I don't have a bank account and it has to be verify so they can deposited it there cause before choosing check i try PayPal and it didn't work. But I try other cash cashing places cause i don't see why they would refuse to cash it if is at a cash cashing.

I hate that you have had this issue, I know it is hard and can be discouraging. I will recommend if you have a Bank Account, you should Deposit in your Bank. They may put a hold on it, but it will clear. Also if you do not want to go through this again, you should try PayPal. PayPal is Awesome! I work Several other clients and PayPal is my Savior! I also have a PayPal Business Card, so when the money is in my account, I can go swipe my card!

I have gotten very real looking checks from lotto scams where the info from the bank was actually correct info. I guess if you deposit these you get burned when they bounce or are found to be fraudulent. Probably something like that happened in the past for them. As a cashing service they probably get dinged twice if they cashed one so they set a policy.
As others have said Paypal is probably your best option.

Yes, you are right about a lot of Bogus checks going around, but with any check I receive out of the blue skies, I will always call the Bank or the Company that supposedly sent the check to me. With the Banks, they usually do not give out personal information on the check, but when you call the Company name on the Check, they will end up telling you, no, we didn't send this check out and don't Cash it. However, FusionCash is very legit and they are encouraging you to show your Payments from them and paying you for it! Just be Careful~

The Bank of the West is a Bank in the West...hint..hint. It is a real bank. They have branches all over the State of California. They should not have a problem with cashing your check as the check has a routing number, account number, check number and the banks name and address on the bottom of the check. So it is a real check from Fusion Cash. They can also verify the check as it has a 800 number on it to call. Unless you have waited too long to cash your check as it will be voided after 90 days.
