Happy Holidays or not
« on: December 27, 2012, 09:43:27 am »
This topic is for anyone who wants to express their feelings about this holiday season.  Were you disappointed, super excited, unhappy, sick (I woke up on Christmas day with a cold!), received the perfect gift, received the worst gift ever, received nothing at all or maybe you have things pent up inside and no one to talk to about it.    Express your feelings here.

the children were happy and we shared some laughs, but we had a loved one admitted to the ER on Christmas Eve so that put a huge damper on things :'(

I'm not a fan of the holidays, ever since my mother died, and also since my grandmother passed away.  That being said, there were no major fights on Christmas Eve or Christmas within the family, therefore I consider it a great holiday season.

I sometimes think of people who have lost small children threw the year and how awful they must feel during christmas. Then folks who love xmas and are unhappy when it's over those ones i'd like to slap some sence into and say get over it.I hve nothing to complain about my xmas went very well.

I treat holidays like birthdays.  Other than the fact it's a day off on a holiday it's mostly meant for kids.

I had an amazing holiday!!  Even though my kids are teenagers they still get excited about Christmas morning and being with family.  I'm still fortunate to have both of my parents still alive and together.  Love my family!!!

Christmas is no big deal in my family. I had no expectations. I was happy with the one gift I received, a Keurig coffee maker. The rest of the day was just like any other day off from work. Eating and watching tv. It was great.

I've had better years for the holiday's, but this years holiday's seem similar to the rest of the year.

We had a good holiday this year.  One of my sisters lives on the east coast now and rarely makes it back for our annual family gathering.  Last year I got her family a webcam for Christmas so we could Skype and help keep her "sane" while her husband is on duty (sometimes for a couple months at a time).

This year we coordinated a Skype session with her and her family, plus her husband had off for the day (first time since he joined the service).  It was great being able to watch them open our gifts and them watch us open theirs.  Way better than an email saying how everyone liked their gifts.

I'm sure we'll tweak logistics for next year, but I still thought it was a great year - being able to include all of us, even if it was via the internet.

not...I got bronchial asthma the beginning part of December and it wouldn't go away.  I'm just now able to do anything.  I stayed sick because I continued to go to my 2 part time jobs and I pet sit.  I ended up losing all my jobs because I was just too sick.  I'm so thankful I'm finally getting better..and I'm out trying to get more jobs to pay my bills and hospital bills.  So pretty much bad December but I'm alive.  Sorry to be a downer...I hope everyone else had a nice holiday....
