new year's resolutions, anyone?
« on: December 22, 2012, 05:30:07 pm »
So, I quit smoking a couple of months ago and now I 've noticed that my trousers are getting quite snug. When I weighed myself yesterday I found I had gained almost twenty pounds, and it was mostly on my waist! Since I can't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe I've decided that, starting on New Year's Day, I'm going to get back in shape by doing 50 pushups and 50 situps every day until my clothes fit me again. I'm wondering if anyone else is making any new year's resolutions? Also, has anyone ever succeeded in keeping previously made new year's resolutions, and if so, what were they?

Congrats on quitting smoking. Keep it up.
That was my new year's resolution two years ago and I've made it this far. I failed every other resolution I tried though.

I am in the same boat as you.  I have actually lost 10 pounds in the last 6 months and look terrible.  I'm not happy about it as most people would be though, because it's lost muscle mass, not fat.  I need to hit the gym and get myself back to fit! I also resolve to spend less time working on work when I am done working for the day and spending more quality time with my family.

My goal is to get in a little better shape myself! We are trying to figure how we are going to do it.

My new year's resolution is to eat more healthier(more fruits and vegetables) and to exercise more, not to lose weight but to tone up a little bit.

Try to save money.... I know it's my resolution every year but for some reason I can't do it.  Will really try this year.

My goal is to get in a little better shape myself! We are trying to figure how we are going to do it.

When I was young I got depressed and put on weight over a girl. So when I saw my kin folk dying, I started exercising every morning and I became a vegetarian and then a vegan. I am no longer a vegan, but I still exercise every morning and try five nights per week. This year I want to get my body fat below 10%.

Try to save money.... I know it's my resolution every year but for some reason I can't do it.  Will really try this year.

Not going to try and save, going to save and invest., using a 70/30 rule. Seventy percent for living, 10% for capital investment, 10% for savings and 10% to charity. And rearrange when I have more.

My 2013 New Year's Resolution will be to use my time wisely.

Time is more important than money. Going to write my goals down, read them in the morning, before bed and several times per day. Review and rewrite my goals any time I need to.

I do not make New Years resolutions. I find that it is way too much pressure. When I lost 50 pounds, I started the end of January and when I quit smoking 5 years ago, I quit in December...

My new years resolution is to get back on track with my diet and loose this weight of mine. It is not feeling so good on me these days.
