Losing a loved one around the holidays...
« on: December 19, 2012, 10:15:06 pm »
My fiance just lost a cousin 15 days ago and now we just got back from my Uncle's funeral. With a few days left until Christmas my mind isn't into it at all. I even had the flu in between and we are so far behind on gifts, wrapping, baking etc...still have our gingerbread house in the box yet to assemble. I think we are both so busy and overwhelmed to have it really set in yet, but I know the breaking point will come. To anyone else having a hard over these holidays I wish you warm thoughts of your loved ones and a "cheers" to them too ;)

I lost my Grandfather right before Christmas years ago.  Hardly a day goes by when I don't think about him anyway, but he is in my thoughts more at this time of the year.  He really loved Christmas, so the holidays have never been the same since.
