3. run the fruit stand outside (had the same stuff in the store)
4. pump propane in 20lb 30lb 40lb 50lb 100lb tanks and campers
5. answered the phone for the store the wood yard and the fruit stand
6. kept up with the trucks of firewood going out and payment
7. unload the fruit truck (box truck 2 times a week)
8. call people that needed to pay there bills
9. ordered from coke lotto and beer
10. ordered chainsaw parts
11. summer time we had a 18 wheeler truck full of junk to yard sale had to pull it out in the am and put up at night
12. get grab bags ready for the auction every night for ex boss to sell
13. had to take care of there 5 dogs (they get board at home)(wash walk feed take to vet)
14. fix junk that needed to be tossed out
now i was PART TIME i got any where from 49 to 58 hours a week
The man that runs the store is a mean old man that thinks everyone is crap under his feet if you are not his wife or kid
He touches his employes and screams nasty names at us calls people by there color (the bad names)
Will not hire men to do this job he cant talk to them that way
yells at customers
4 years i worked there I am so happy he fired me
Best part was he come in 5 minutes after i got to work and fired me over a box the last shift left in the floor
Wow i feel better thanks for listening

Wow!  That's a bummer, but maybe what you needed to move on to a better job.  If you were working that much part time, I can't imagine what full time is at that job!

he is stuck in the old times, and his father probably treated others the same and thats where he learned.  kudos to you for lasting 4 yrs.  i probably would have stayed only a week if that.

Good things you walked away from this job would be to know when to call a b/s boss when you see it, prob in the first 5-10 mins, proof of a multi tasker, knowledge you can handle a full time job and a great resume! Also think of the new job as an opportunity to have wonderful benefits that will surely remind you how great it is to be away from the old job and a reason to go back and brag  ;) Good luck for the future! I would say it is hard to find something but I found networking with people can help you find a great job. A bud of mine will be permanent come Dec 2012 at a most wonderful company he found due to a temporary company so he recommended me to visit and I should be going back to work after 2 1/2 years of unemployment

It's okay. Of course you'll find a new job. A better job and your old boss will run out of business after firing everyone :)

I was thinking the same as most post. You have a great work ethic, you'll find another job easily and one which your are treated with the respect all people deserve for working hard. Good luck!

Have had some bad bosses in the past. One question I ask in the interview is: Why did the last person leave? Good thing is you got a very good education for next time!

1) Look for several positions. You can compare and chose. But make sure it is friendly.
2) If you are collecting unemployment, see if they will help you with training or help you start a business.
3) Get and read (borrow or buy): "What Color is Your Parachute? A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers by Richard N Bolles  (check out his other titles as well)
4) Make sure you do a back ground check on the companies you want to work for and interview them as well. Don't give the employer all the power. Businesses can't run without people. You have to get hired, but they still need workers.
5) Find a way to give them a test run too, just like they do to employees. Of course don't let them know you are doing that.
6) Even though you got fired, you have a track record of working for the same place four straight years. Which is a very good foundation for your future!
7)Titles are strange and sometimes bosses don't know how to use them or use they to control employees. Your title may have been cashier, but it looks like you were more of a manager, assistant manger or shift manager. Remember that as you rework your resume. Sometimes bosses will not change your title to keep your pay down. Other times they give you new titles to keep from giving you more money, while at the same time retaining your services.

*** My own personal philosophy. I don't believe in jobs. JOB=Just Over Broke  Plus I was not one to wimp. WIMP=Where Is My Paycheck  But, I needed a job or took a job every  once in a while to finance different projects, including starting businesses. Or take a rest from running a business. Right now you have a start at learning to make money online. In 2-5 years with hard work this could replace a job. In the meantime use it with a new job to make money. Good Luck!
