I don't understand how anyone can celebrate christmas this year after all these shootings. Its just too sad to celebrate anything at the moment. Can you imagine opening gifts and having good time with your family for christmas while these families won't have the same opportunity as you? My prayers go out to the families and everyone effected by these shootings.

I haven't been on for a few days, was busy last week and just sick about the tragedy in Conn. over the weekend.  My heart is broken for the families. I have two children, ages 10 and 11. We've just been hanging out with our kids and hugging them more than usual. I can't understand how anyone could do something like that...

it was such a tragedy, I believe the news media covered it very well up to a point. After reporting it over and over the parents and families need a break from it, and only have the high lights once in a while. But too have too see it time and time agin as each news reporter has to put their spin on it , it hurts. Having gone through of such horror of just losing 1 child and 3 of his friends. Too have too see in on all day, day after day is too much. Our prayers go out too all of the families there. God watch and confort you.

How can someone look a child in the face and shoot them?  This is so evil and tragic. Yes something should be done about people with mental issues bringing guns inside of schools.  The schools should have metal detectors at each door entry.  They have an system set up at the airports. Why isn't the detector system at all schools? Children are as precious as the people in the planes. My heart and prayers goes out to all of the families.

My daughter is 7 years old. I had just dropped her off at 1st grade about an hour before this all happened. I was at the airport when I heard about the shooting. So awful. I can't even imagine how those parents must be feeling. :(

Stop giving stuff like this attention. This is why people going doing things like this. They know it will get them attention. What is wrong with you people? You are as bad as they are for basically encouraging it ! Stop rewarding bad behavior !

I doubt that he'll be reading this.

Look at it this way, it gives everybody something to talk about, the news media has something to print for you to buy, a star is born, and pretty soon you are paying your 12 bucks to see it on the big screen. Now my question is, it's not what is wrong with the people who did these horrible crimes but what is wrong with everyone else? :angry7:

What a Tragedy.  I can't imagine losing one of my children this way.   I will never understand the mind of a young person committing such a terrible crime.

How can anyone look a child in the face and shoot them, it just does not make any sense.  Prayers go out to all families affected by this tragedy.

I said the same thing. How in the world could anyone look into the innocent face of a child and shoot them?  They are harmless, unable to defend themselves. Makes me so sad.

I was at work yesterday when someone came in and told me about what was going on.  The person and I debated, would it make a difference in the number of these incidents if the news did not report these things nationally? Are some people only doing these things to get their name out in the world for 30 seconds of fame and a chance of making the history books? If no one outside of the community where the incident happened knew about it, would no one want to "out-do" what the last person did? Ex, this man "out-did" the movie theater shooter...

Thoughts? Should the news not acknowledge these types of tragedies nationally?

Yes I do think that the need to be acknowledged. This was cruel and uncalled for act by an extremely sick indiviudal. My heart aches for these families. I think though that the media needs to stop broadcasting it 24/7. These families are going through enough and don't need to see this continously especially the children. I also don't like that the media has to jump to interview the families after such a horrific act. Leave the families alone.

You know I don't normally say anything back to a post like this. But really this was uncalled for by you. Apparently you don't seem to want to grieve for the families. This was a horrific act. No one is rewarding bad behavior. It was acknowledging the senseless deaths of 26 individuals. Twenty innocent children that should not be dead. So many other children that have lost their innocence by witnessing this act.

Well this is a hot subject, as we do have those that believe one way, and those the other. That is what brings us together in the end.

We take a little from each other, and I feel come to an agreement. Nothing in our lives is perfect. If you believe you are perfect, then,    and I hopefully quote, "He who is perfect, .... or without sin...., please cast the first stone...."  Sorry but this is not just in the Bible, but also in many cultures, one is mine the " Cherokees, and .. well, look at history. Something is written in our hearts, and no matter your station or upbringing in life, it is written in your heart. We just have to find that again, among all the propaganda being exploited upon us.
Let us pray for those in this tragedy.    in our own way and I hope your family is safe and can enjoy a very

Merry Christmas
