New Year Resolutions
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:35:49 pm »
Do you believe that people should set resolutions or not?

I personally set one each year and then do my best to follow through, but I don't set one that I know that I won't or can't acheive.

EACH YEAR I JUST SET A GOAL TO DO BETTER FOR MYSELF THAN THE LAST YEAR. WHEN I TRY TO MAKE A RESOLUTION ON SOMETHING SPECIFIC LIKE QUITING SMOKING IT NEVER HAPPENS. I DON'T LIKE BEING CONFORMED TO MAKING A DECISION ON THAT DATE AND STICKING TO IT THAT'S PROBABLY WHY IT NEVER WORKS.

There is this sense of renewed motivation to achieve a goal but usually it is a bit short lived. I usually try to make a goal but don't get too upset if I don't follow through for very long. For the moment I haven't been going to my workout class as much because of the holiday season and eating a bit more than I should with family get togethers. I will try to get back on track with my diet and exercise next year. I am just glad if I don't gain more that 5 lbs during this season (have lost 40lbs total). So far I am on track but the real test will be when I visit my husbands family next week. They are going to make all kinds of foods mostly junk food that I will need to eat at least some to make sure I don't hurt anyone's feelings.

I set one to start on Feb 1 to take the pressure off. This year-eat more fresh fruits and veggies each day.

I think it's good to set goals for yourself. My goal this year is to learn to be a more loving and caring person.

I've run out of resolutions so I just choose to be optimistic about whatever the new year will bring.

I gave up on New Years Resolutions years ago, now, if I want to do something, I do it and not wait for the New Year!
