why do adults drink alot

People drink to escape their problems.  They also drink to relieve stress.  I don't think these are good reasons to drink.

I agree.  Some adults drink a lot because they are trying to escape reality.

There are many reasons. My dad is an alcoholic. He drank at first as a social thing...his friends were doing it. Then it became a habit. When he was unhappy about something he would drink more. He would drink more to celebrate something. Now he drinks to escape reality because my mom passed away. Its a way to cope with the world, in my opinion.

Everyone here have to going through a lot of problems and issues. Some people would consider this suffering.  But this is all part of lessons, learning how to improve oneself.  But some people can't handle the lessons so they escape by doing drugs, drinking,etc.  which basically it's giving up your power. I feel the only way to truly have happiness it's taking that power and say you no longer need to escape and face all lessons head on.  It's like being in school and when you have homework that's really hard to do you copy your neighbor's or ditch school or beat up others.  all it's just a way to escape.
i think people who do drugs/ drink know during the process it's great but after that you feel horrible and you need to increase the amount to have the same effect.  it doesn't solve your problems Once you master your lesson you no longer afraid and need to escape. which would you choose long term / short term solution?

Everyone seems to agree on this topic to escape from their problems and toubles of the world, if they only knew it is just temporary and your problems are still there.  Now if you are a social drinking, I guess that is ok sometimes.
