Hostess or Little Debbie
« on: December 04, 2012, 10:29:33 pm »
With everyone upset about Hostess going out of business...I then began to think what would I miss from them. My first thought was Swiss Rolls (I personally hate Twinkies) and then I was reminded that they were Little Debbie's and then I thought of the Zebra Cakes....Little Debbie's.... and then I thought of the mini muffins...Little Debbie's...and then I just decided that I'd rather have Little Debbie's anyways lol. How about you?

Like American airlines I don't think the twinky is going to go away. Just somebody else will be making them.  Probably in a foreign country that does not even believe in labor unions.

I'm more familiar with the Hostess branding. I didn't eat them very often, but when I did have them they were always a nice treat. As others have mentioned I don't think they're completely gone as there are a number of companies interesting in buying the brand.

Hmm...Hostess or Little Debbie, I like either one, although I don't believe neither are very healthy if you read the ingredients label, why does Hostess have to put animal lard in everything?  Probably Little Debbie for me, but the family prefers Hostess.

I would have to say both. I do like the hostess twinkies and cupcakes, when i was a teen it was the zingers with the red and coconut but i grew out of those. and i do love the little debbie zebra cakes and some of the others as well. but there is one brand that hasn't been mentioned. if you grew up in the north then you know about tasticakes: krimpets, coconut juniors choco. iced juniors etc. but we cant get them down here in the south as easily. until now that is. i just recently actually saw a tasticake outlet right here near my house. cant wait to go in there and see what they have!!!!!!

I usually bought the Little Debbie brand before Hostess took its downturn. Little Debbie products cost less than the Hostess brand.

The snack I will miss the most out of all the Hostess ones, are the Crumb mini-donuts. However, although Hostess has been discontinued in most if not all stores by now, I've seen an increase stock in Dolly snacks, virtually identical (Dolly Zingers, Dolly Cup Cakes, Dolly mini-donuts, Dolly Dunkin Sticks, etc). What I don't understand is, if Hostess has gone out of business, how come Dolly has seemingly taken over, but Dolly is in fact owned by "Hostess Brands, Inc". I would think if the whole corporation has gone out of business, then all or their bakeries and subsidiaries would do so as well.

I'm having a terrible time finding a replacement for Wonder Bread.  I know white bread isn't good for you but I love it and Wonder was the best!
