How was the procedure? I have been taking anti-inflammatory drugs for several years for my arthritis. The doctor changed my medication last year and my liver enzymes started going up. I had an ultrasound done and they decided my gallbladder was the cause. I have surgery in March and they had to cut me open because one of the stones was rather large. My enzymes were still high so they took me off the drugs and I have to have a liver biopsy in January.
Hi Cathy37, It is a very simple and easy procedure. They did mine in the x ray department where they used a CT scan, they will numb the area however you will be awake with a mild sedative. Then they put a long needle where your liver is while laying on your back with both arms raised above your head, in all it takes maybe 15 minutes. then they will transfer you to recovery and keep an eye on you, in my case for a half hr. I myself had no pain. I wish you luck and pray that all works out well for you
.....sorry i'm not to good at explaining things but I hope you get what i'm saying
