  I would of course take either the  Nook or Kindel!! but if you are trying to pick one of them, I would go with the Kindel...it has been around longer

Go for the kindle fire...it is very durable
Mine has been through a 2 and 4 year old and still works like a dream...not to mention a great variety of apps!
