iPod's are not bad for your ears at all, it is the earphones that go directly in your ears. You make it sound like having an iPod will make you deaf. I have an iPod and rarely listen with earphones.

seriously and it is really annoying when someone is sitting on the other side of the room and you can hear their music through their ear phones. man!

huh?? Didn't hear you!  LOL...j/k  Anyways...I have been listening to walkmans, NetMds, and ipods for a very long time. And yes, if you have the sound loud enough it can damage your hearing. I think that is a given.

I don't care. I have had ear problems all my life. Starting with childhood. I know I am going to be deaf or hard of hearing by the time I reach my senior years (if I make it) . So let me enjoy my last moments of sound while I can.

I can't stand when headphones have the sound regulated.  If I can't feel the music in my bones, then why bother.  :BangHead:

I can't stand my music turned up loud.  I like to be able to talk normal over my music.  Its not so I can protect my ears, although I don't want to go deaf any time soon. lol  :D

Listening to anything at a certain decibel is bad for your ears.  Evenutally as you age you will cease being able to hear anything at all.

I agree anything being stuck in your ear can be dangerous, But it is the volume and the type of music that is listened to that effects things.

i used to listen to music with earphone everyday (nearly half a day). But now I stop because its true that one will eventually loses their hearing. I'm glad I stop now.

Thats freaking scary news!

I do not have time to listen to them but that does not mean that my mother/fiance/sister etc dont either.

I wonder if it is the ear phones.
