Do you eat to live or live to eat?
« on: November 27, 2012, 01:18:39 pm »
I ain't gonna lie, most days I live to eat especially when I feel overwhelmed during the week. Then there are days like today, where I actually drink more water and actually eat when I'm hungry (3 meals). idk just something to discuss...

I do both. ;D    I try to eat healthy most of the time but everything we do as a family centers around food.  Whether it be celebrating Friday's, the various holidays, birthdays,  football, soccer, baseball, or a special tv program we like to watch together, or any other reason we can come up with...there is always food.  8)

There have been years where I've eaten to live and other years where I've lived to eat.  Food and I have a relationship similar to the relationship Oprah references to with food.  I think it's typical in American culture for us to eat to live vs live to eat in phases.  I've finally come to a point where I've learned I'm here to live.  Eating is in fact an enjoyable experience and even more so when high nutrient super foods are incorporated in our diets every day. Chocolate cake, ice cream and other treats are rewards and treats.

I eat to live.  I wish we could cut out the whole energy-recycle thing.

I love to eat and at this stage in my life, it is  one of the few things I look forward to.  I am not working and so I do not have money to do things or buy anything but essentials. That just leaves the simplest of pleasures, one of which is FOOD. I cook 3 meals a day for myself and hubbie. I try to make it enjoyable insted of a chore. Recipe hunting is another favorite thing I have. Variety is the spice of life and I make the most of what I have. As you get older, you learn to make adjustments. In my case, that is my waistline!!!

I would say I eat to live.   I don't drink sodas.  I don't eat between meals.  I eat foods that are healthy for me.  I drink alot of water. I also eat alot of salads. I do my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

After learning some things about the importance of good nutrition-I have come to realize that we really are what we eat.  Some diseases and most physical ailments can be prevented or cured by eating the right foods.  Also food is the best beauty treatment because it creates real, natural beauty from inside.  I leaned this when my always mid length hair began to grow to lengths it never had before when I began eating a lot of oysters and avocados just because I liked them.  I was amazed.
